"SHE CAN'T DO THIS!" I screamed, running my hands through my hair. Claire, put her hands on my shoulder, but I recoiled, and I cried even harder. Everything on my body, bruises, and scars were crying out too.
"Cato, it's okay." She said. "Your sister will be okay. I am here, I will always be here for you. I kind of like you."
"NO." I replied, "It won't be okay. I should have gone to the cornucopia instead of her."
"No, you would not have known any better." Claire said, as she kissed my head again. Suddenly the train halted, and went flying forward, right into the wall. Moaning, I got back up, trying to find the window, but everything was so dizzy.
"Take it easy Cato." Claire demanded. "She'll be fine."
"You-you don't know what they are gonna do to her." I said. "Cathy? Come on!" Cathy came out, and we got to the door of the train.
I waved goodbye to Claire, because I knew, for what I had planned, I would never see her again.
We walked through the backways of the capitol so that we wouldn't look out of place in the croud of the rainbow people. But Snow surely knew where we were.
"Cato, I-I don't think this is safe." Cathy mumbled.
"Well, that's the most intelligent thing you have said all day." I shot back. She was hurt by my words, and I looked to her apologetically.
We made our way to the Mansion, sneakily. But, two peacekeepers laid straight ahead, they seemed like they were our only obstacle.
"Hand me a knife." Cathy demanded.
"Umm...no...have you seen what people have done by acciden-"
"Cato. Knife. Now." I handed her a knife hesitantly. She had the same fire as Clove. She threw the knife at the one of the peacekeepers, the shorter one. "Your turn." she said, retrieving the uniform.
She must have learned that from Clove. I thought. I grabbed a knife from my packet and jabbed it into the other man's chest, killing him instantly. I grabbed his uniform and put it on over my head. I knew Snow was watching but not everybody was.Together, we both were in the uniforms, and surprisingly, they fit, perfectly. The only thing about Cathy's outfit, was that the arms were a tad too big, but that didn't stop her. She was tall for her age. I guess it comes from my dad's side of the family.
We passed into the mansion, unsuspected. In my deepest voice, I asked the guard at the door, "Snow had ordered me to meet him in the chamber, which one?"
"Room 47653." he said, then he looked at Cathy. "What's your identification number?" It was the same room I was in not to long ago.
In her deepest voice, which wasn't manly at all she croaked, "Identification number sir?" The peacekeeper needed. "Oh that? Haven't you heard? They got rid of our numbers, apparently, they have a new system that they are making." I saw her mask eyeing a little bar code on her jacket wrist. "See? Try this. I am wearing the prototype, so it might not work." The peacekeeper scanned the barcode and it beeped loudly.
"Agent Jeslik?" he asked. "We don't have an Agent Jelsik." I looked at my barcode, and held it out for him to scan. "Commander Porter, go ahead." I, Commander Porter wasn't doing much thinking while my sister was.
"I am training her. Relax. She might just be the one to kill Clove. Now if you'll excuse us." I said, grabbing my sister's hand, as we fled down the hallway. Room 47653 was on the bottom level, the 5000's were on the second, and the 6000+ were on the third, so I knew we hadn't much farther to go.Finally I found it. Cathy looked at me, and we opened the door. One Peacekeepers was in there. He hadn't noticed us.
"Cathy, if you see Clove, close your eyes." I demanded.
"Okay." she said.
