(Anna) Now that we’re on the same page, I’d like to just take this moment to say… HA!
(Jay) Hardeeharhar, you’re so funny Annie.
(Anna) I know.

I knew how terribly awful it was for me to be so excited for Jordan, considering we were competing and all. She was so happy though! Plus, she was excited for me with Warren, so it kind of evens out.
I figured she deserved some support.
Smiling to myself I flopped down on a barstool and listened to Jordan rattle on about the events of today to our mom who just smiled and laughed. I really did love our mom, even if she wasn’t our birth mother, she might as well have been. That’s how I always saw it anyways.
I glanced up at the clock and realized it had been half an hour since we got home. We had so much homework to do, and Jordan was sitting there talking about a guy!
“Hey, ummm, Jordan. You see that?” I asked, pointing to the clock. She looked at me confused. “That, my dear sister, is a clock. It tells you what time it is! And you know what time it is right now? Twenty minutes past the time we should have been starting homework. So how about you stop talking about Henry, and we go finish – scratch that. Start the thing that could affect our future.” Mom started laughing, but Jordan glared at me, no doubt thinking of all possible ways she could get revenge. After a quick stare-down between us, she stomped her foot and huffed.
“Fine, let’s go.”
“After you m’lady,” I smirked before gesturing widely to the hall that led to the den. She snarled and sulked forward. I looked at mom and winked, which had made her laugh even harder, then skipped down the hall into the den.
I was surprised to find Jordan sitting on the floor with her legs crossed, and her head in her hands. I walked over and sat down.
“It’s ok Jordan, it’s not that big a deal,” I placed my hand on her back as she started to shake. “I swear! It really is fine, Jay.”
“It’s not that,” she said looking up at me. “It’s how I’m acting!” I was quiet for a moment.
“How are you acting, exactly?” I asked softly and rubbed her back.
“I’m being all girly and prissy. I just had a mental meltdown because one cute guy asked for my number! I never act like this, Anna!” She whined and slumped against the couch.
“It’s fine, Jay! Just stop whining and-”
“And whining!” She screamed, then stood up and stomped. She was no longer sad, now she was furious. “Since when did I ever whine?” She yelled so loud I got scared. “I don’t whine! You do! I’m acting like you!” My eyes went wide at her words. Tears began to brim my eyes.
“W-what?” I say weakly, the hurt was obvious in my voice.
“You heard me!” She screamed. “You act like a helpless little child that needs help to get dressed! You never speak up for yourself and you get excited over the stupidest things!” I had tried to stay calm, but her words stung. Is that what people thought of me? “If you want to keep being that way, fine! Just don’t let it rub off on me,” her words were a touch softer, but the harshness in their meaning tipped me over the edge.
