Chapter ten

Patrick's POV

I heard the sound of a car door slamming, and I stood up quickly, laying Saint down in the play pen and rushing to the door.

By the time I made it there it was opening, and I couldn't be more relieved to see my fiancé.

"Tori-Elisa?!" I said, cut off in the middle of my "oh I'm so glad you're here speech" by the sight of my ex wife.

"I had to bring her with me." Tori said. "Will was working with Sally the whole time. The whole fucking time. Sally showed up."

"And you knew about this?" I asked Elisa, angry.

"Elisa is who got us out of there alive. So, rather she knew about it or not, we owe her. And you're going to be nice to her." Tori said.

I shut my mouth, knowing she was right.

"Andy's on his way." I said.

"Listen." Elisa said. "We need a plan. To get pete and Joe out of there. And fast."

Suddenly someone knocked on the door.

"It's probably andy." I said.

Tori opened the door and gasped. "Will!" She cried.

I rushed over and stepped between Tori and her brother.

"Get the hell out of here." I said.

"Please, just listen to me." Will said.

"We're done listening to you!" Elisa cried.

"Elisa, you don't understand." He said.

"We understand perfectly." Tori said.

"Tori, she was blackmailing me. Still is." Will said.

"How?" I demanded.

"With my son." He told me.

"You have a son?" Tori asked.

"Yes. His name is Brandon. His mother and I have been apart for a long time, and I don't get to see him a lot. But he's still my son and means the world to me. Sally said she'd take him too if I didn't cooperate." Will said.

"How do we know you aren't lying?" I demanded.

"It's true." Elisa said. "That he has a son, I mean. I've met him. And the ex."

"But is Sally really blackmailing him?" Tori asked.

Elisa shrugged. "It isn't beneath her."

Tori chewed her lip while she pondered it.

"I can tell you what Sally's plan is." Will said.

I glanced at Tori. She nodded. "You have one chance." I said.

Andy arrived then, and I let them both in.

Will's POV

"Okay, so here's the thing." I said. "Sally is hell bent on getting her kids back. That's you and I, Tori. She abandoned both of us. And now she's trying to get us back."

"Why not be a real mom?" Tori demanded. "I mean, we actually had a relationship before all of this."

"When Joey shot at her, and you ran, she knew you were more afraid of Evan and the other Will-"

"And Joey." Patrick put in.

"-and Joey than you were protective of her. She was betrayed by that. She said you didn't love her. She said that if it was your dad then you would've stayed."

"That's not fair!" Tori cried. "I could've left her there with Will and Evan, but I put myself at risk to get her out!"

"She tested me too, Tori. She used Elisa to do it. When she attacked Elisa and I took Elisa's side, she said I loved Elisa more than her." I said.

"So, what?" Andy asked. "What is she trying to do now? Make you love her?"

"Funny way of doing it." Elisa muttered.

"No, she's given up on that. Tori and I hurt her. So now, she's trying to hurt us. It's why she's threatening my son. It's why she's taken your friends, Tor. It's why she's hurting Elisa. She also wants to hurt you, Patrick, because you took Tori away. It's also why she wants to hurt Elisa." I said.

"What's she going to do to them?" Tori asked.

"She's going to keep them. Until she gets what she really wants. What will really hurt us into doing everything she says." I said.

"Us as in you and I?" Tori asked.

I nodded.

"Well what does she want?" Andy asked.

Patrick looked down. "I know the answer to that." He said.

"What? How could you possibly know?" Tori demanded.

"I... called her. After you left." He said.

My sister was on her feet. "You did what?!"

"I called Sally. I asked her what she wanted. And...i said she could have it. But I didn't know why she wanted it. I was trying to save Pete and Joe." He said.

"What does she want?" Elisa asked.

Patrick still wouldn't look at Tori, but he did look at Elisa.

"Me." He said. "And you."

I stood up now. "You told her she could have Elisa?" I demanded.

"No!" Patrick cried. "Just me."

"Why would you do that?!" Tori screamed. "Why would you let her take you from me!"

"I was trying to get Pete and Joe back for you, so you could have your best friends back." he said.

"And you think taking the man I love from me is any fucking better? Are you fucking stupid?" Tori cried.

"She can't have him." Elisa said.

"Of course she can't have him." Tori said. "But he should never have said he would go."

"It's not your decision." Patrick said.

"You're clearly not of sound mind." Andy said, rising slowly. "I can't let you make decisions right now. So, it is. You're not going."

"Are you gonna stop me?" Patrick said, threateningly.

"If I have to. Don't tempt me." Andy said.

"Guys, we can get Pete and Joe back without handing anyone over." I said.

"How?" Tori asked.

"Simple." I said. "We go and get them."

"How are we gonna do that?" Elisa demanded.

"It's easy, really." I said. "I know where she's keeping them."
