Ch.1-Malachite no more

(Lapis's POV)

"Jasper get back here, your going to fuse with me again, I can't let you hurt Steven" I yell

"No I'm not spending one more instant in that fusion, even if I get shattered" she screams

"So be it" I mutter. I use the ocean and create a set of ice daggers with the water. Then I see where Jasper is running and I aim the daggers in her direction and fire. The daggers go flying through the water and impale the orange gem in multiple spots... including her gem. Jasper's form begins to fade as she coughs and falls to the ground. I walk over to her slowly and see the dying gem lay on the ground before me. "THIS IS FOR STEVEN" I yell as I bring a foot down on Jasper's gem. I somewhat feel a sense of joy when hear her gem crack under my.... bare foot. "SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT" I scream. I look down at the bottom of my foot and see it covered on orange shards. " As much pain in the afterlife as she was in real life, I guess" I say to myself. After I brush the shards off my foot I wonder what I should do now that I'm free. My first thought was to go see Steven to let him know he is safe. That's what I decide to do, I summon my wings and stretch them feeling how good it is to be free. I jump out of the water and start to fly in the direction of Beach City. Once there it is almost dusk and the city looks beautiful, over the orange and purple sunset. I spot Stevens small house on the beach and begin my decent. "Lapis is that you!?" I hear Steven yell. "HIIIII STEVEN" I shout from the air. I get down on the porch of his house and give him a hug. "Lapis I thought you were gone for good, Garnet said she had lost any sign of malachite and I assumed the worst" He was lost in sobs and his tears were staining my dress. "Its ok Steven I'm here now and I will never leave" I say in a soothing voice. I feel Steven's arm wrap around me and he says,"I know I-I just missed you. "Steven come o you have to get ready, what are you doing out there?" the unknown gem says. Then she steps outside and I recognize the salty gem as Pearl. "L-Lapis how did you get back. A-And where is Jasper" She says. "Well Jasper is shattered and well I just flew back" I reply. "Yes well Steven need to get dressed now so, Goodbye" She says waving me away like a pet. "No Pearl, she is coming with us, right Lapis" Steven says. I look down and the smol gem gives me a wink. "Ya im going with you guys" I said not even knowing where were going. "Well if you are you might want to change out of those rags" Pearl says pointing at my dress. "Ok Bird mom" I reply. Pearl turns around furiously and looks like she is about to say something and then just stops off with Steven. After she is gone I decide she is right, my dress is torn to shreds and soaking wet. I concentrate my gem powers and create a new one piece dress with a blue spiral wave pattern, a wrap on my waist, and a star on my chest. After my dress is done I decide to pull out some Lapis Lazuli earnings out of my gem that a tribal women gave to me over 4500 years ago, luckily they were still very intact. I smile at my new look and notice it is a very good improvement from my last dress. "Lapis you look amazing" Steven says running out the temple door in a cute pink button up shirt. (The one from Stevens Birthday) The gems all come out of the temple including someone I would never expect to be there...Peridot. I remember Peridot always treated me more kindly than Jasper. I guess its kinda cool she joined the gems to. "Hey Steven where exacally are we going" I say in his ear. "To the beach city Oprah House" He says with joy. "A play might be nice" I think to myself. On our way to the Oprah House I notice how much human culture has changed since the last time I was free, its amazing really. "Were almost there" Steven says excitedly. Once we get there I see a large electric sign on top saying," Tonight's performance is 'Jailbreak', witted by Steven Universe and directed by Jamie the mailman". I stared at the glowing sign in awe. "Steven you wrote this play" I say excitedly. "Yesssss and its going to be great" he reply's with his starry eyes. Once were inside a large man in a the dyed shirt with triangles all over it comes out on stage." Hello beach city you may know me as Mr. Smiley and I am proud to be the host of this play tonight, Written by Steven universe and directed by Jamie the mailman" he says. The crowd cheers and Steven being the goofball he is he stands up from his chair and makes fancy bows to the crowd. "Now for tonight cast" Mr.Smiley begins again," Jamie as Garnet, Jenny as Amethyst, Kiki as Pearl, Pedee as Steven, Connie as Ruby, Myself as Jasper, and finally Ronaldo as Malachite". I shiver at even the mention of the name of that terrible beast. "All other roles will also be played by Jamie the mailman" Mr.Smiley adds in. The curtains then draw back and the play starts. I look around the stage and realize they used colored cardboard boxes to recreate the interior of Peridot's ship.

(The play pretty much follows jailbreak...I had wrote the play out but it got deleted and I don't feel like writing it back so just try to picture it :)

The play was great, the actor playing most of the rolls was especially great... maybe even cute....BLARG what am I saying he is freaking adorable. "Hey Lapis I'm going to run backstage really quick to talk to Jamie, you wanna come with" Steven says gesturing to the stage. I nod my head and we head to the back of the stage. "Jaaaaammieeee" Steven yells as we walk into the dressing room. " Hey Steven, whos your friend" he says gesturing to me. "L-Lapis" I say felling my cheeks warm up. Jamie must have taken notice because his face turned bright red, and then there was Steven who was looking at me smiling. "Jamie you were so great tonight" Steven finally says. "Thanks Steven" Jamie says. "STEVEN Come on were leaving" I hear pearl shout. "Ok" Steven calls back. "Wait before you go, a flower for the lady" Jamie says taking a rose out of a vase of flowers in the corner and handing it to me. "T-Thanks" I say blushing. "Come on lapis were leaving" Steven says grabbing my hand and pulling me with him. "Byyyeee" I yell. I couldn't hear his response but I'm pretty sure he said bye to. "So lapis did you like the play" Steven asks. Only one word escaped my mouth at that time and it was "Yes"
