Ch.6 The reluctant return

(Lapis POV)

*one week later*

"Great Steven keep it up" I shout. I hurl another ball of water at Steven and he slices it in half with one clean shield throw. "Excellent!" I cheer. Aqua also adds in and claps loudly. "Steven you've come so far in just one week" Aqua says with a smile. "Its true Steven you've been excelling with flying colors this past week" I chime in. "Thanks guys, I couldn't have done it without either of you guy's." Steven says.

"Awwwh Steven, come here little guy" Aqua says running over to bearhug Steven. I smile them both a big smile and join in on the hug. Suddenly Steven phone starts to ring, "Oh geez Connie again" Steven says unsurprised. "That's the tenth time this hour maybe you should answer  her for once" Aqua says worriedly. Steven lets out a long sigh and presses ignore.

I feel a wave of guilt flow over my body. I wonder how worried Connie must be, Steven has not talked to her in over a week. "Ok I've made up my mind" I say. "About what Lapis?" Steven questions. "Were going to go back to beach city" I strongly say. "Really" Steven says excitedly. I nod and can tell Steven is very excited. "Are you going to come with us Aqua" I ask. Aqua tenses up and looks very reluctant to leave. "You don't have to come if you want to stay" I say disappointed. "No, no its not that I'm just worried about how different the world will be" She says worriedly." Its okay I will be there with you" I say to her. "Okay I'll go" She says with a bit more of encouragement. "Great, lets go" I said excitedly.

We all leave the temple and head into the jungle towards the warp pad. Once we reach the warp pad I have second thoughts of going back. "H-hey Steven why don't you go first to calm down your friends so I don't get beaten to a pulp" I say worriedly. Steven shrugs and hops onto the warp pad and disappears in a flash of white light. Me and Aqua wait about five minutes or so and then proceed onto the warp pad. "Ready" I ask her. She nods and I send us back to Stevens house.

Luckily once we were there the gems did not beat down on us but then THE SALT APPROACHED. "It was very wrong of you to  take Steven away without are permission" Pearl squawked. "Well at least I thought him a few new tricks" I reply. Pearl tilts her head not knowing what I meant.  "Steven" I say. He nods and shapeshifts into a tiny pink lion, then he turns back to a human and summons his shield and hurls it with incredible speed. The shield then fly out of the house and hits the sea with a loud crash. "Well then I see he has improved wonderfully" pearl says excitedly.

"Who's your friend" Garnet asks. My friend Aquamarine, she was one of my friends back in the rebellion. Pearl shoves Garnet and Amethyst out of the way and runs up to Aqua. "You mean the famous Aquamarine who was a incredible swordsman and very effective fighter." Pearl says with wonder. "Um yes" Aqua says shyly.  "Eehehehehehee I knew it " Pearl says excitedly. Pearl then drags Aqua to the warp pad and warp away somewhere. "Well they're gonna be gone a while" Amethyst says.

"Well I'm gonna go, I've gotta go see someone" I say looking to Steven to make sure it was okay. Steven nods and I walk out the door and take flight.  I fly above the city and look down upon the many buildings, Then I swoop down on to Jamie's small house and land on the sidewalk. I quickly walk up to the front door and twist the knob checking if it was unlocked. The door opens and I yell ," Surprise". I hear something fall a room over and go to see what it was.

When I get into the kitchen and see Jamie laying on the floor. "Why are you on the floor" I ask sarcastically. "Oh I don't know I just fell" he says with a large amount of sass. I pick him up off the floor and give him a hug. "Missed you" I say squeezing him even tighter. "A-air" Jamie wheezes. "O-oh sorry"  I say dropping him onto the floor again. "That's okay, u-um its getting late would you like to stay here tonight" he asks. I nod and follow him down the hall to a bedroom. "Their is only one bed hope you don't mind" Jamie says. I jump on the bed and make a sexy pose. "Of course not hot stuff" I say. We both burst into laughter and I allow Jamie to get into the bed. "Night you weirdo" Jamie says jokingly. "Nighty night" I say. I then allow myself to drift asleep and think to myself how nice it is to be back.
