Ch.5 - Base of Quartz

(Lapis's POV)

So lapis, where should we start cleaning" Steven asks. I look around and then think about where we should start and then my eyes fall on Aqua's room. "Um before we start I need you to do something" I say looking over to Steven. "Ok" he cheerfully says. I lead Steven to Aqua's room and start to open the door. "She's in here" I say. "She?" Steven says with a curious look. The door opens and my eyes fix on the tiger on the other side of the room.

"Steven you need to heal her gem" I say. "Lapis... my healing powers don't work anymore" Steven sadly says. "Oh..." was all I managed to say. I look over to Steven and see that he is looking at something on the wall. "Hey lapis what does this hand dealy do"  Steven says while placing his hand on the temple's control service. "Steven, no, wait" I shout at him.

It was to late Steven had already placed his hand on the control service and the temple began to shake."L-lapis w-whats going on" Steven says. "you've activated the control service the base is now changing to suit your needs" I reply. Just then a white light engulfs us all and then just as quickly as it came it fades. "What was that!" Steven asks. "The temple reset itself" I tell him. I move over to the door and twist the bronze colored knob slowly.

The room is flooded with light and I step out. I see now that the narrow hallway has opened up into a large circular room with a large star on the floor and on each tip of the star was a room. "This is all nice Steven but how do we get to the other parts of the temple" I ask him. "What?" he asks. "Well you made this you know" I tell him. Steven then realized what I meant and then put his hand back on Aqua's control service.

 Suddenly a spiral staircase appeared out of the middle of the star and went in both directions, up and down. "Well Steven lets see what you did" I say walking out towards the staircase. Steven follows me and we head down the spirals til we reach what seems to be a training room. Steven smiles and looks at me for permission to train I nod to Steven and continue on down the staircase.

I past a few more floors such as a kitchen, a living room and lastly a pool. I look at the pool and see that he even managed to line the edge with lapis lazuli. I smile at this sight and realize that this pool was for me. Just then I notice the stairs continue to go down so I follow them. The final room I come to was incredible! I don't know how Steven did it but he created a fountain of his mother on the final floor. I walk over to the fountain and notice the water is the tears from her eyes.

Then I remember something my commanding officer told me back in the war. "Listen up gems, the rebels leader is  Rose Quartz, she may look harmless but is a very powerful gem, and can heal fallen gems with her tears so stay alert". I remember his words exactly and realize I can bring aqua down here to heal. I am overjoyed by this news and run upstairs to get the corrupted gem.

Just as I past the training room I see Steven barely holding off a training machine with his shield. The machine was firing off bursts of ice, fire, and lightning. (the training drone from lion 2). I see that Steven needs some help so I reach to my gem and pull out my long blue trident and hurl it at the machine. The machine explodes and Steven absorbs the force with his shield. "Thanks lapis" Steven says out of breath. " No prob bob" I jokingly say. Steven smiles and we both head upstairs.

I walk over to Aqua's room with Steven and open the door. "Aqua come out its safe were going to heal you now" I say. The tiger rises out from the other side of the bed and walks over to us. I pat her on the head and lead her out of the room and down the spiral stairs. As we were heading down aqua slipped a few times trying to get a grip with her large claws. Finally as we reach the bottom aqua is reluctant to go into the fountain. So me and Steven quietly sneak up behind her and shove her in. she then thrashes around in the water for a few seconds and then she regains her form.

"Aqua are you ok" I say.  the gem rises up from the fountain and steps out. "L-lapis is that really you?!" I nod and we both engage in a hug. "Its great to have you back" I say. "Great to be back" she says. I look at Aqua and admire her new form she has chosen. She wore a long light blue dress (like blue pearl), she had longer light blue hair and her skin was glowing a brilliant blue. " Great new form" I say. " This old thing, I just threw it together, you know" she says in a sassy tone. We both break into laughter and head upstairs with Steven.
