Don't put it in my mind that this can work,
That you're here for this,
That I have your word.
Don't give me hope.
Don't tell me what doesn't matter
What we'll get through,
The possibilities for what can be between me and you.
Don't tell me what you want
And why,
That at the end of the day,
You're a different type of guy.
Don't give me hope.
Give me facts,
Put it out there.
Give me truth.
And if truth measures up
With what you've shared... Then I'll be alright.
Just don't give me hope.
