Thump.. Thump... Thump.
Ugh.. Stupid pounding.. Stupid bright light.. Stupid voices. Speaking of which why am I complaining like I have a hangover ?
Thump !
Dammit if this is what a hangover feels like I'm never drinking.
"Well, you weren't drinking that's for sure" says a chuckling voice, and I raise my arm to my forehead, feeling a damp cloth on it. Ignoring the strain of light on my eyes, I peel them open, and look straight at Hansens face. Groaning again, I feel his hand removing the cloth and dampening it before placing it back.
"What happened ?" I ask, looking towards the smiling Asian boy.
"Well, I guess the excitement of ice cream overtook you and you fainted out of excitement... Truth be told though, I freaked out and almost thought you died" says Derrick as he enters the room, sitting next to Hansen, and places his hand on mine. His expression was weary, and as he was talking, his expression changed from amused to sullen.
"Well, you still owe me an icecream" I said, smiling at him. Who knows how long I've been asleep, and by the growl of my stomach, I am hungry, though that's not a surprise.. I'm always hungry. He gives a throaty chuckle, his eyes definitely amused at something, Or someone I suppose.
"Seriously Kay ? You almost die and you're asking me for ice cream ?"
"Maybe.. I don't know ! I'm just hungry" I say folding my arms.
"Well then come with me I'll get you your ice cream then" says Derrick and heeding no further, I hop off the bed, grab his hand and step onto a platform, Hansens laugh audible from the platform.
"You're really weird you know that ?" Says Derrick as we pass the popular site for parties.
"Yep I know, it's nice being weird, I consider it as something that makes everyone unique, their weirdness" with that he chuckles and we ride the rest of the journey in silence, that is, until we reach the cafeteria.
"ICE CREAM !" I yell, running and dodging people to get to the ice cream and ice cream bar. By the time I reach, I grab a cup, pull the lever and watch as brown and white swirls settle into my cup, my mouth was ready to become a waterfall any moment. After filling the sweetness of gods to the top, I grab a spoon and see Derrick finally reaching me.
"You arrived early" I said, smirking as I shove a spoon into my mouth.
Oh my flipping gosh this is amazing ! Moaning softly at the taste, I ignore Derricks words as I shovel more into my mouth.
"Kay.. Kay !" He says, and I snap my attention to him, he looks frustrated and I give him a pout before picking up a spoon full of ice cream, an offering up to him as a peace offering.
He sighs softly and eats it, a groan escaping his lips, from the awesomeness of this dessert from the gods.
"It's good isn't it" I say, after swallowing a bite, he nods and motions for more where I give him, before he goes and serves himself some. Coming over whilst shovelling spoonful after spoonful of yoghurt into his mouth, I couldn't ask him about his flavour before he groans and grabs his forehead, his face scrunched up and him flinging the yoghurt on to the table, making it splatter onto some places.
Poor Derrick doesn't know how to control his fro-yo.
Chuckling softly at his attack, he runs around me as it worsens before I tell him the ULTIMATE cure. It's just dramatic.
"Place your tongue to the roof of your mouth, it helps a lot" he completes the task and within moments he's back to normal, well as normal as anyone can get with fro-yo on his cheek and corner of his mouth.
Dampening up a cloth, I approach him, watching as he tries to squirm away for some reason. Ignoring his questions I hold his hand down until I'm close enough to his face. Gently wiping the yoghurt off his cheek, I ignore his intense gaze on my face, traitorous red cheeks heating me up.
Moving it closer to his lips, I wipe it off, before throwing the napkin away and looking at him.
Oh how I wish I hadn't.
He was staring, what felt like right into my soul with those brown pools of dark chocolate. Feeling a sudden dryness on my lips, I drag my tongue across them, watching how his eyes follow it before snapping up to mine.
Dammit his eyes are perfect..
Realizing what happened between us, we quickly snap away from each other, our eyes wide with recognition.
Was that a moment ?
Will this ruin our friendship ?
Damn me...
