School started again. It wasn't like Harry wasn't used to it, it was was just that this year seemed, different. Harry just assumed it was because Ella was starting this year, as was Katie, Sirius' daughter. Or maybe it was that Moony would be teaching DADA.
But none of those reasons were the actual one.
Harry couldn't precisely name it. It had to be perhaps a change in the weather, or, maybe that he was a teenager now. Who knew.
The train ride was slow and tiring. Him, Hermione, Ron, Ginny, Katie and Ella all sat together with a sleeping Professor Lupin. That's when it happened.
Ice.
It was early September. Ice shouldn't be forming like this, especially not this quickly.
Then, a formless cloaked creature floated out of the darkness that the unlit corridors of the train provided.
With a wave of its skeletal hand, the door slid back. Everything went cold, and the edges of both Harry and Ginny's vision became blurry.
Ginny went first, her eyes rolling back into her head, then closing as she slumped into Harry's shoulder.
Then Harry heard it, a scream in his mothers voice. 'Harry!' And then his vision went black.
When Harry woke up, they were still on the train. Ginny was also asleep, her head on his shoulder.
"Here, eat this Harry. You'll feel better." Moony handed him some chocolate. "Thanks."
He took it, and put it in his mouth. It tasted like good memories, and it melted slowly.
He repositioned Ginny so that she was lying more on his lap. She was one of his best friends, and it really didn't bother him.
"How long was I asleep?" Hermione beat Ron or Ella to the answer. "About an hour. We'll be at Hogwarts in another hour or so."
"I might try to get some more sleep. Wake me up with about 10 minutes to spare." Hermione nodded, and Harry closed his eyes, drifting into a dreamless sleep.
"Harry! Harry!" He jolted awake with a red head shaking him.
"Five more minutes Mum." The red headed girl snorted. "Really Potter? I don't look that much like Lily, do I?"
He looked up, and saw Ginny with her hands on her hips."Let's go Fool, they're clearing everyone out now." Harry got up, and saw Ella standing in the aisle.
"Go on Ginny, I'll meet you there. "What if I'm in Slytherin Bubby?"
"Then you'll be the finest and prettiest Slytherin this school has ever had." She laughed, and then ran up ahead to bother Ginny.
"Black, Katie." Katie's legs were quivering, and she pushed her dark hair back then plopped herself down on the stool. Almost as soon as McGonagall dropped the hat on her head it yelled out, "GRYFFINDOR!" And she practically skipped off to the table.
"Potter, Ella." Ella dashed up the stairs to the sorting hat. She sat on the stool and McGonagall dropped the hat on her red curls. The hat took a long moment, and occasionally Ella's face scrunched up. Finally, the hat yelled out, "GRYFFINDOR!" And with a sigh of relief, Ella ran off to the Gryffindor table next to her brother.
'Something Flowery' read it. Now. CaptainMercy
