As James woke up on this cold, gray morning, he realised two things.

1.) Lily was not next to him.

2.) Hedwig was tapping on the bedroom window. He sat up groggily, rubbed his eyes, and sat his glasses on his face before getting up to the window.

He opened it, letting in the cool May air, and Hedwig flew in, dropped a scroll on the bed, then flew off.

James picked up the scroll, only to realize it had a blue ribbon tied around it. Blue meant emergency, purple meant emergency fixed, red meant stay away at all costs, and orange meant that two Marauders shouldn't be here together because it would look suspicious.

With panic lacing through him, he slowly unraveled the scroll and read.

James rummaged through a couple of drawers in his desk, trying in vain to find the Marauders Map.

He finally found it way back in a cubby.

He tied it up in a purple ribbon, signifying that the emergency was taken care of, and sent Hedwig back off with the Map. James plopped down in the chair by the desk.

"Use it well Harry, use it well."
