Chapter 2:Mother to The Earl

I woke to my mother in my room with a face that you better have a good explanation. I looked up Ciel was not in the bed. I rubbed my head. "Yeah mom?" I asked she glared "You better explain to me why your laptop is smashed and in your trash can and why a strange looking Boy is in our bathroom." I gulped well what was I supposed to tell my mom 'oh yeah mom a boy from an anime came out of my laptop and I smashed it to free him. Every fan girls dream.' Yeah she will believe that NOT. "Mandy how do I get this infernal garment off?!" Ciel yelled from the bathroom I laughed "You see the zipper at the top pull it down and step out of it go to the bathroom how you normally would then but make sure to open the lid of the toilet first! Then there is a switch like thing on the side of toilet push it down once then pull the garment back and zip it back up! I'll be in a minute to show you how to wash your hands ok?" I called "Ok thank you Mandy!" he called back. "Amanda explain!" my mom yelled I gulped nervously "Let's just say I'm taking care of a magical orphan for a bit just till his butler can come get him. As for my laptop I had to smash it because he came from it. He's not from here he doesn't understand our time because technically he's from the 1800's. But he's from an anime that is based in 1800's I don't know how he got here he just did. His name is Ciel he's an earl well not in this time period. He doesn't know how to dress himself or wash himself or stuff like that because he had people to do it for him his whole life." My mom looked confused "Mandy are you using drugs honey?" she asked I glared and shook my head "No mom I'm not lying nor am I on drugs." I explained then we heard the toilet flush "Mandy can you come in now?" he called "I'm coming Ciel hold on!" I called back sighing getting up. I walked back to the bathroom and knocked "Come in." he replied I opened the door and gasped he wasn't wearing his pajamas. I covered my eyes "Ciel! Where are your clothes?!" I yelled still covering my eyes. "I wish to bathe." He said nervously I sighed "Can't you wash yourself?" I asked hopeful "No I Can't could you wash me?" he asked me I sighed "Mom come here!" she came down the hall "What's wrong?" she asked I pointed into the bathroom keeping my eyes covered. "He doesn't know how to wash himself and wants to bathe. You wanna do that? Because I'm not I'm sorry but that's not my job." My mom grinned "Well if you want him to become independent you're gonna have to show him how to shower." My mom said walking away I sighed and grabbed a towel and wrapped him in it then uncovered my eyes. I explained how the shower works and what to do and walked out. "I'll be back in a few minutes ok?" I called from behind the bathroom door. "Thank you mom." He mumbled the last part but I still heard it I smiled at the thought of being mother like. "I'll go grab you some jeans and T shirt ok?" I called "Ok thank you Mandy." He called back I walked to where my mom was in the kitchen she was making pancakes. I smiled hopeful "Can I borrow some money? I need to take him to the mall to buy him some clothes and other things. He's going to be staying here till his butler figures out how to find him and bring him home." My mom nodded and handed me two hundred dollars I was shocked "Get what he needs." She responded I put it in my purse then went to my room to change I came back to the bathroom carrying Ciel's clothes. I showed him how to dress himself and to brush his teeth and fix his hair as I did even showed him deodorant. "Ready to go?" I asked "To where?" he asked "The mall. And remember you have to act like you're from this time period and if anybody asks you are my little brother and stay with me the whole time don't leave my side no matter what. The mall gets crowded during the weekend ok and some people are downright Assholes." I explained he nodded. We walked to the kitchen first to eat breakfast Ciel loved my mom's pancakes. "Ma'am this food is better my butlers and his food is amazing but yours goes beyond. And Mandy I've never had a day off from my paperwork or doing my daily duties nor have a day off from my fiancées high pitched voice." He explained gratefully. I smiled my mom looked confused "You're engaged? And you have paperwork? Aren't you 9?" my mom asked he nodded "In my family it is costumed to be engaged at a young age I've been engaged for a long time. As for the paper work I'm an earl and head of the Phantomhive family since my parents died in a fire when I was little. I am the queens guard dog so I solve murders for her and I run a toy company called funtom." He explained my mom gave him a hug "So much to deal with at a young age." My mom said hugging him a bit tighter. He blushed I laughed and we walked to the car my mom drove us to the mall and dropped us off. I took him by the hand like a mother would a child. I took him to hot topic he saw the black butler section and pointed to it confused I laughed and explained how popular he was in the real world. He blushed I picked him out some jeans and a few Panic! At the disco shirts along with one Black butler shirt that had him and Sebastian on it chibi form I insisted on it because he looked so cute I got him a few wristbands too. He seemed to like shopping so far I payed for the stuff and I carried the bags to the next store we went which was Payless shoes. I got him some converse and high tops and a pair of boots. I had him carry the shoes out next we walked to JC penny's we walked to the Boys undergarment section he picked out his size and what he wanted along with some socks I payed and we walked out. We walked to target next to get him a tooth brush a comb and some deodorant. We went to the Food court after that. We placed the stuff on the table "What do you want to eat?" I asked he thought for a moment "Um I don't know why don't you pick? But can you get some sweets too?" He asked I smiled "Alright how about a burger and some fries? And after I'll take you to get some ice cream ok?" he nodded smiling "Ok but shouldn't I go with you?" he asked I shook my head "No I need you to stay with the stuff at the table. No matter what anyone says do not leave this table don't talk to anybody you don't know either ok? Just wait for me I'll be right back I'm just going to walk over there and pick up our food and I'll be right back ok?" I asked he nodded I walked off to McDonalds which was in the food court I picked up our food and came back as quick as I could Ciel was still sitting at our table. I handed him his food and sat down. "Um Mandy can I ask you something?" he asked I nodded "Sure what?" I asked he looked around a moment "What does it mean when someone says they would uh 'tap that' at you?" he asked confused I nearly choked on my fry "Who said that to you?" I asked and he pointed to a blond girl a few tables over "She said to her friend 'I'd tap that' and smacked my butt I didn't say anything because you said not to talk to anybody I don't know. Is this a thing you do among friends?" He asked confused I glared at the girl "No it's not. I'll be right back." I said getting up and walking over to the girl. I smacked her in the face she gasped "Watch what you say to children! Dumbass bitch! That's my little brother he's 9 you dumbass hoe! I hope Pedo bear fucking rapes your dumbass." She glared at me "I was just kidding! Can't you take a joke?! Over protective much?" she asked smirking "Smacking a child's ass and saying you would 'tap that'?! I wouldn't call that a joke I would call that pedofialism." I said smacking her in the face once more before walking back to the table Ciel was wide eyed I sat back down. "Finish Eating Ciel we are leaving after you're done then we will get ice cream as I promised." I said trying to smile he finished quickly and my mom was waiting in the parking lot for us I placed the stuff in the car and my mom drove us to the ice cream place and left. "Mandy you didn't have to be so protective of me but thank you." He said smiling. "What flavor do you want?" I asked smiling "What's cookie dough ice cream?" he asked I explained "That sounds great can I get that?" he asked I smiled and ordered I got cookies and cream flavor. We sat down and chatted while eating our ice cream we didn't realize how late it got the sun was going down. "We should be getting back." I said and he agreed we started walking taking a short cut through an ally way proberly wasn't the best choice but it was the fastest way. I noticed we were being followed by four people two girls and two guys the girls were the ones from the mall and the guys I didn't know. Ciel looked at me slightly afraid "Mandy?" he asked "Yeah I know just keep walking." I took him by the hand and we quickened our pace they did the same suddenly Ciel was ripped from me and I was being held back I struggled as hard as I could to get free but it was no use they were stronger. "Mandy!" Ciel yelled terrified "Let him go! He has nothing to do with this! Beat the living crap out of me if you want! I was the one who slapped her!" I yelled as the one of the guys held a gun to Ciel I screamed louder. "Don't hurt him!" I screamed he pulled the trigger everything froze for a moment I got monstrous strength and broke free and blocked the bullet holding Ciel tightly in my arms but the bullet never hit me. I turned around to see a black haired man holding the bullet. "Such a pity to have to kill you." He said smirking "But I'm afraid I have to you tried to kill my young master and his care taker." He threw the bullet at him it killed him instantly he threw knives at the others. He turned to us and bowed "Young master and my lady Mandy I presume?" he asked I nodded "Time to go home I'm afraid Master." He said but then Ciel did something I didn't expect "Sebastian this is an order! I want you to leave this world I would like to stay with Mandy she reminds me of my mother go back to our world without me." He said and Sebastian looked shocked somewhat hurt but he bowed "Yes My lord." He responded leaving. "Thank you Sebastian for saving us." I yelled he smirked "It was no problem at all my lady just one thing I ask in return take care of him like a mother would." He said smirking Ciel was shaking I picked him up and carried him the rest of the way home. I walked to my room the whole room was re arranged there was a bunk bed in the corner all made up with different things Ciel changed into his pajamas and I tucked him in and kissed his forehead. "I love you mom." He mumbled sleepily I smiled "Love you too Ciel night." I said climbing up the bunk bed and going to sleep. I woke later in the night to hear shuffling and crying I looked down Ciel was having a nightmare. "No stop! I've changed my mind I want to live! Mom! Help me! Where are you mom?!" he was crying hard I got down off my bed and walked to him I held him in my arms. "Shush Ciel its ok. It's just a bad dream I'm right here for you don't worry." I said in a motherly tone rocking him softly he woke up and hugged me tight "I don't want to die." He said crying into my shoulder I stroked the back of his head. "You're ok nobody is gonna hurt you as long as I'm here." He cried harder "No you can't protect me from Sebastian! He is supposed to take my soul just like you said as soon as I get revenge on the person who killed my family! But I've changed my mind I have a reason to live now! I didn't then so I was ok with dying. You remind me of my mother and I want to stay with you I want you to be my mom." He said crying I stroked his head again "Don't worry I'll protect you without fail. I can't replace your mother but I can be like a second mother to you if you want and you can stay with me as long as you want. Ok? And as for your butler I can figure something out on that." he stopped crying and started to fall back to sleep "Thank you mom." He said smiling I placed him down and was just about to go back to my bed when he grabbed my sleeve. "Stay with me until I fall asleep." He said "I'll be right above you I'm not going anywhere." I said trying to walk again but his grip tightened "No stay in my bed." he said sounding like a child which he was. I sighed and climbed in next to and draped my arm across him then I fell asleep.

~Ciel's point of view

I was having another nightmare Sebastian was about to take my soul but I wanted to live this time. "Now then Young master." He said leaning in for the kiss of death which was a kiss on the chin. I backed up I didn't want this. "No I wanna live! I don't wanna die! I made a mistake! Mom! Help me!" I yelled but I realized my mother was dead she and my father were the reason I had summoned Sebastian when they were killed I had a reason for all of this. I thought I had nobody to live for. But now I felt like my life had meaning again I cried something I haven't done in a long time but I needed to let my emotions out. "I wanna stay with Mandy!" I screamed waking up and she was holding me telling me everything was ok just like my mother used to do whenever I had a nightmare they would let me sleep with them and I always felt safe there like nothing could hurt me. After they died I never felt that kind of comfort again even with Sebastian protecting me. I felt cold and revenge was the only thing that kept me going but then that night came I was working in my study when there was a blinding flash then it was dark I was sacred then she came and saved me she reminded me of my mother from the very beginning and with her I felt safe the same feeling of comfort I had with my parents maybe she could be like a second mom to me. She told me that as I was thinking and letting my emotions out I called her mom too. I finally calmed down and she started to go back to her bed when I grabbed her sleeve I didn't want her to go anywhere even if she was going to be right above me due to this bunk bed. "Stay with me until I fall asleep." I mumbled and she climbed in bed with me and draped her arm over me soon she fell asleep. I felt that same feeling of comfort I had felt with my parents. But what about Sebastian? He will come soon enough wanting my soul he may even kill her in attempt to get me back. No! I won't let him hurt her she is not a pawn in my tedious game no she is the queen and I am the knight but Sebastian what is he in my game? One thing is for sure I won't let her be sacrificed in my game she will not be a part of it. She will be protected from that all costs I will handle Sebastian on my own if I have to.
