~Best Friends? Or More?~ A Mithzan/Max Fanfic

Chapter 3.

•{3 Days Later}•

{Abigail's POV}
Max and I just got back from Louisiana and we're at the airport now, waiting for Adam & Ross to come pick us up.
The past 3 days were great. We got to spend time with family and old high school friends. We had so much fun with them.
"Adam, how far away are you? We've been at the airport forever" I could hear Max say over the phone. I laughed at what I was thinking. I went up to him and said "Don't be such a Mad Max". I could hear Ross & Adam laughing at what I had just said. "Adam, take you're sweet precious time. I'll see you when you get here" Max said, hanging up.
I saw Max walking towards me. Uh Oh. I started to walk fast, since I didn't want to get in trouble by anyone. But Max started walking faster. He then caught me and started to tickle me. No matter where we were, he would always do that if I called him names. He finally let go and we both looked into each other's eyes.
His beautiful brown eyes.
We were getting closer to each other.
Is this really happening?
What I think I've been wanting for 17  years?
Suddenly, our lips touched. It was like nobody was around us, just him and I.
Max & I.
I didn't care if people were staring. This was a feeling that nobody could get rid of.
He then let go.
"Umm, I'm really sorry Abi. I'm.. Going to go wait over here" He said, and walked a little away from me, looking for Adam's car in the window.
So, we just kissed and he walks away. Great. Friendship is now awkward. Woo Hoo!

{Max's POV}
Did I really just kiss Abi?
Stupid, Stupid, Stupid!
You know she doesn't like you that way idiot.
So why did you just do that?
I look back over at her, and her face is all red.
But I see a smile. She looked over at me. I felt my face burning.
I then saw Adam & Ross coming down the stairs.
"Hey Guys! Sorry we're late!" Ross said, walking over to Abi & I. We started to get close to each other again. "It's okay. Can we grab some food once we get out of here? I'm hungry and I refuse to pay $4.50 for a bag of chips!" She said, as we all laughed.
Her amazing laugh.

~Time Skip to the next Day~

{Abi's POV}
I woke up to the sound of my alarm on my phone.
Weird. Max usually comes to my room to wake me up. I just have my alarm just in case.
Suddenly, I remembered what happened yesterday.
I walked out of my room and into the kitchen, where I saw Max.
"Morning!" He said, but I knew he felt awkward as anything.
"Yup, of course it's awkward" I mumbled to myself. "What?" He asked, but I didn't say anything. I just grabbed an apple and sat across from him, trying not to look at him.
After about 5 minutes of awkwardness, he finally spoke. "Look Abi, I'm sorry about what happened yesterday. I was an idiot for thinking you like me. Can we just forget what happened?"
"You think I can just forget what happened yesterday, Max? I've been waiting 17 years for that!" I said, raising my voice a little.
"There's no need to yell about this Abi!" He said, getting up from his chair.
That really hurt me. Does he not even care about my feelings? We've had our small fights before, but none like this.
I heard someone about to walk in the kitchen.
I went up to Max and whispered in his ear "Maybe you shouldn't just talk to me right now". I was trying to hold back the tears.
I saw Ross walking into the kitchen. Both Max & I just started at him. "I just came in here to get some cereal guys..." He said, and I just walked past him, and into the hallway.
"What did I miss?" I could hear Ross say.
"Absolutely nothing" Max said, and I just ran to my room.
