When i got to my room Maybrie was already asleep on the bed. I watched her for awhile, noting that she never breathed or made the slightest movement. Watching her lay there, unmoving, reminded me that she was dead so i got up and went in the bathroom. I brushed my hair and changed into my night clothes. It was only 8:00 p.m. but i was tired so i shut off the lights and curled up in bed under the covers, facing my sister. I closed my eyes and moments later heard the slightest sound of movement. I smiled gently as Maybrie scooted over close to me and laced her fingers in mine. I opened my eyes to say goodnight, but she was already fast asleep. I snuggled up closer and shivered from the coldness raidiating from her body. Some part of me fought against me, saying this isnt right, that Maybrie shouldn't be here. But another told me that she was my sister and no one could ever take her away from me. Bothered by the fact she was so cold, I tucked the blanket in between us and soon fell into a dreamless sleep.

The next morning i jumped awake from my alarm clock. Wait. I hadnt set my alarm. I had forgotten. I frowned but laughed when i saw the jumbled mess on my nightstand. Maybrie floated out of the bathroom and giggled shyly.

"Sorry. It was hard trying to turn it on." she grinned. I jumped out of bed and threw my arms around her for a secod. Then i drew them back. Maybries face lit up and she ran to my bed excitedly.

"Look!" she exclaimed, jumping on my bed. She laid on her back and covered up with the blanket.

"Its getting easier to not go through things." Maybrie smiled. Suddenly my mom hollored for me. I sighed but hurridly drug on a pair of short shorts and a spaghetti strap shirt. I grabbed my converses and bags and with a wave to May ran down the stairs.

I pulled into the schools parking lot and glanced around nervously. The pickup truck from the gas station had followed me all the way to school. I had no idea who he was or what he wanted but i breathed a sigh of relief when he drove past me and back out onto the highway. I got out of my truck and turned around to get my things when a gloved hand came down over my face. I tried to scream but my cry for help was muffled by his hand. I swung my arm out and made contact with the mans face. He loosened his grip and i swung around to face him. I gasped and my heart almost stopped beating.

"Hello little girl." The man smiled before grabbing my face again and putting a cloth over my mouth. I struggled to breathe and choked on the heavy fumes coming from the cloth. I grasped onto his arm and fell to the ground. The man released his grip on me and peered into my eyes, picking me up as i lost consousness.
