My trembling hands were right above the doorknob.
Maybe mother was right, there was nothing here. Nothing for me to find.
But a voice whispered in my head "if there was nothing here, why did they go through all the trouble to make sure nobody comes here?"
One last doorknob to turn, the one that will lead me to the truth. But I was horrified of what I would find in there. Perhaps her dead body? I closed my eyes and imagined the walls inside this room covered in bloody words, the air reeking of death, and her body in the middle of the room in a pool of blood, her once beautiful and full of excitement blue eyes closed, her little white dress stained with blood, her hands clutching tightly on the dead daisies.
My heart started beating so fast I couldn't breath properly and I felt like I was going to faint. "Stop it London! Just open that damn door!" The voice in my head yelled. I wanted answers, here they are all right in front of me just separated by a wall.
I took a deep breath, squeezed my eyes shut and twisted the doorknob and braced myself for what was coming.
The door opened a crack, and I forced myself to open my eyes to see what's inside. I started pushing the door wider apart until suddenly the door slammed shut from the other side.
