Injuries Healed
Over the next couple months I improved the running time, fighting multiple people at a time (sending some to the hospital), using different types of guns, and being able to shot moving targets. I also acquired new abilities, one was that I could levitate things with my mind but with enough practice I was able to get to the point where I just think about the object and hold out my hand and it comes to me. The second was that my hearing improved a lot, the only downside to my improved hearing was that I would get headaches from the loud squeaking form the doors. Later I learned how to be able to turn it on and off.
--------
Two weeks after all the new improvements I received yet another ability. I was sitting in my history class bored out of my mind from the teacher only giving us lectures every day about the exact topic. In the middle of his lecture the P.A. turns on "Lockdown...Lockdown" a women's voice says on the P.A. No one expected this to happen in our school. We all knew it wasn't a drill because they always warn us beforehand which is stupid. Our school is practically in the middle of nowhere, so all the stories that we hear from the other schools never happen to our school which makes it a boring school. Another reason we knew it was real was because we could hear gun shots echoing in the hallways. The students closest to the light switch turns the lights off and tries to close the door fast but he was to late a student about our age, not from our high school walks in with a gun in his hands. He points the gun at us while we are all trying to get in the corner of the class room. We all duck trying not to get in the line of fire. My teacher steps in front of all of us and faces the boy. The boy slams the door shut. My teacher starts walking towards the boy but...
"Stop or I shoot" he says.
"Okay, but just tell me what you want?"
"That's none of your business, now sit down with the rest of them."
My teacher sits down with us and outside we can hear the sirens from the police cars getting louder and louder as they come closer to the school. The boy passed back and forth in front of us, like he's waiting for something or someone. Than the phone in the classroom rings. He points the gun to my teacher.
"Get up, answer the phone, and don't try anything stupid or I'll shoot one of your students."
"Alright."
My teacher goes to answer the phone.
"Hello, yes...They want to talk to you."
The boy grabs the phone violently.
"No you listen unless you don't get Mr. Eal here I'll shoot someone every half an hour." He shouts in the phone and slams it down. He points the gun at us and grabs one of my classmates away from everyone else. He points the gun towards her. I jump up towards them and jump in front of him "Bang" I felt a sharp pain on my arm I look down and I see blood sinking through my shirt. I collapse to the floor from the pain. The phone rings they must have heard the gun shot. The boy heads over and picks up the phone. My teacher moves towards me telling my classmate to give hem her sweater. He takes it and pressed it on my arm. The arm is so strong that I could scream but I keep my mouth shut tight. I hear the boy slamming the phone down again. He turns towards us and yells "everyone except the two of you" pointing at my teacher and me "get out of here."
The rest of the class gets up and hurriedly gets out of the classroom.
"But she needs a doctor."
"You'll both get out of here alive if you do as I say. Now help her get up and get in front of me."
My teacher grabs my good arm and puts it around his neck while his other arm is under my armpit. He helps me get in front of the boy.
"Now start walking and don't try anything stupid or the girl will be losing a lot more blood than she already is." Pointing the gun at my back.
We head out the door were we are surrounded by cops pointing their guns at us. The boy behind us raises the gun in surrender. Two cops take me outside to an ambulance and lay me down on a stretcher. I see that my other classmates are talking to other cops and the rest of the students from the school are behind a yellow caution tape. The medics wrap my arm because the built only grazed my arm and gave me something for the pain. Some cops asked me questions about what happened. I close my eyes for a minute and try to relax. I open my eyes and see Mathis standing over me.
"Trying to be a hero?"
"No."
"Come on let's get you out of here."
I get up and get down from the stretcher. Once I land on my feet I felt light headed and start to fall. Mathis steadies me before I fall to the ground.
"Thanks."
We head towards the crowd, with Mathis supporting me.
"Nora!"
My friend Meghan runs towards us.
"Are you okay? I heard you got shot from protecting someone else."
"Yeah" looking at my arm.
"Dose it still hurt?"
"No its fine now they gave me something for the pain."
"Nora we should go."
"Okay" looking at Mathis. "Bye Meghan. See you later."
"Wait where are you going and who is he?"
"See ya."
I wave good-bye not wanting to answer her questions.
"Urgh."
"It still hurts?"
"Yeah, how long till it heals?"
"As long as it needs. Your school will be closed for a week, but you get two weeks because of your arm."
"K." I look up at the blue sky thinking on what made me jump in front of one of my classmates when I too was scared out of my mind.
We arrive at the office. Mathis takes me to their doctor. When we get there the director is waiting for us. I sit on the bench and the doctor takes off the bandage. They all stare at my arm in surprise. I look at my arm and see that my arm is almost healed.
