I found out that Audrey is 15 years old too, so I'm glad I have someone that's my age here. I asked her why she came here and she said that her parents were abusive towards her. She would get hit by her dad whenever he got mad and get hit by her mom when she was drunk. They have been doing that since she turned 14.
She told me that her mother had lost her job last year and so she used drinking to cope with it instead of getting a new job. She told me that her mother is an angry drunk and would hit her and blame her for her losing her job, even though it was never Audrey's fault to begin with.
Her father wasn't very happy when he realized that because of this, he would have to get a second job. So he got stressed out very easily than he already was. He would punch her whenever he got stressed out and needed to release his anger on something/someone. He just treated her like his punching bag.
She could never go to the police because she would need to go by car. No one asked about it because her parents would hit, punch, kick, and cut her in places where it wouldn't be seen. She also didn't want to tell a teacher at her school or her counselor because she didn't want to end up in the foster system.
But then about a week and a half ago, she decided to tell someone. She got so tired of all the beating she received, so she told her counselor at school.
Her counselor called child protective services and the police went to where her parents were and put them into custody. According to her, it was all settled out and her parents were sent to jail for a long time. She was sent here just today.
I felt really bad for her. Having to get beatings almost everyday sounded horrible, even though mine are gone they loved me and cared for me.
She seemed really cheerful for a girl who has gone through that. But it was just an assumption. I shouldn't make assumptions.
"I'm so sorry you had to go through that. I can understand why you wouldn't want to tell anyone but I'm really glad you told your counselor." I said rubbing her back.
I know I said I tend to push people away but when someone I know and care about is going through something bad, I'm there for them. I'm a very affectionate person. I know it kinda sounds like I shouldn't be but with everything I've been through so far, I don't want anyone I know to go through that. Sometimes I tend to be overly affectionate though.
"It's fine. I don't have to deal with it anymore so that's the good thing and I'm not alone here. I have you. That is, if you want to be my friend." She said looking at me.
I stopped rubbing her back and smiled. Not a fake smile but a real smile that I don't have to force. A feeling of happiness. I haven't felt this feeling in a long time.
"You see there is one person that has always kept me smiling and he's a YouTuber. His name is Vanossgaming and he's one of my favorite YouTubers, have you heard of him?" She asked me.
"Yeah actually, I didn't know you watched him too." I said smiling wider.
"Yeah, he's really funny. I finally found someone with the same favorite YouTuber as me." She said almost jumping from excitement on my bed.
She pulls out a laptop from one of her bags and searches him up. We sat on my bed and started watching. We watched his videos until probably about 9 or 10 at night then we decided to go to bed. Before Audrey went to bed she said to me,
"I'm glad your my friend Chelsey ."
"Im glad your my friend to." Then we went to sleep.
