Chapter 6 ~ Chains

I was watching the light getting darker and darker while sat on the same log where I fell madly in love with Newt. I had until sunset to make up my mind whether I'm staying or going. I could feel tears starting to flow down my face. I then heard footsteps coming from behind, I turned around and saw Newt about to sit down next to me. I quickly turned away from him and wiped away my tears, trying to control myself. Still facing away from him, I heard him say

"If you want to go back then go, I only want what makes you happy and if that makes you happy then...go"

All of a sudden a burst of memories with Newt came rushing through my head, from when we first met to making out behind a blade in the Maze. I quickly turned around and dug my face deeply into is broad chest and let out my tears, soaking his shirt.

"You are the one that makes me happy Newt"

Newt let out a sign of relief and put his hand on my head and rubbed it lightly, giving such a soothing touch. He lifted my head and looked at his shirt which was soaking. I chuckled slightly.

"Ehehe sorry"

"That's alright"

Newt lifted his shirt up and over his head. Showing off his perfect chest. I gulped. How can someone be this perfect?

As the sun was just about to set and the box was nearly time to go down, all the gladers, including myself, gathered around the box, watching it for it to make some movement. I was fidgeting slightly while stood next to Newt. Was I making the right decision? Suddenly, squeaky noises has heard from the doors of the box shutting slowly. I took a deep breath and jumped in the box.

"No Tommy! You promised me that you will stay wi-"

I grabbed his shirt and quickly pulled him in the box. Everyone was in shock. The doors closed and the box started going down. I looked across me to see Newt panting.

"What's wrong?"

"I thought you was going to leave me"

"No, remember? I promised that I will always be with you, this is our chance to get out of here together Newt!"

Newt grinned and shuffled over to me and rested his head on my shoulder. I looked down at him and said

"I love you"

I woke up on a shiny floor. I don't even remember falling asleep. I picked myself from the floor and looked around.

"Newt? NEWT?!"

"He's over there"

I turned around to see a wrinkled blonde lady pointing her finger (which looked like a wrinkly chip) to the left. I looked in the same direction and saw Newt in a empty room with only one glass window between me and him. He was still still asleep and each hand was chained to two walls so that his arms where apart. I was so confused what was going on.

"Wake him up"

Said the wrinkly lady. I watched carefully with my worried eyes through the glass window, I didn't notice before but a big, muscly man was in the comer of the room, folded arms and holding a whip. I could see what was coming but I was too scared to say anything. The man walked over to Newt, unfolding his arms. He slowly raised the whip and hit Newt hard which made Newt shout out in agony.

"NO!"

I shouted as I ran up to the window, pressing my hands against it. Newt slowly lifted his head to me.

"Maybe I didn't explain in detail enough, when I wrote that you either stay or go, I meant you go alone, I thought you where smart enough to know that, but you went anyway and took Newt with you, now this is your punishment"

She nodded her head to the man and he whipped again. I could see the pain in Newt's eyes.

"STOP! AGGHHHH!"

I lifted up a near by chair and smashed the glass with it, I jumped onto the muscly man, hitting him with all my might. He gave me quite a few punches to the stomach but he hit powerfully then to my head which knocked me out.

"Names Newt, I'm second in command, and you are?"

"Aha I like you...you're funny"

"No but it's punishment enough, trust me"

"I'm only obeying orders, Gally said you needed to be punished so that is what I'm going to do. Ever since you came up in that box, I haven't been able to keep my eyes off you Tommy"

"I want to be with you forever Tommy, promise me that you will never leave me"
