Love Is Tough, But It's Contagious

Ch. 3: I Guess Expect The Unexpected (Hayley)

*Hayley*

"How is this possible?" I whisper staring straight ahead.

Niall grabs my hand. "What do you want to do?" He asks softly.

I face him. "What do you think I should do?" I ask sadly. "The death was right!" I say without thinking. "When I died, she warned me. She warned me, but I couldn't believe it." 

Niall freezes as I say so.

"Hayley, what are you talking about?"

I look at the woman, watching her disappear into the distance. "Let's sit down." I mumble playing with my fingers.

I take a deep breath as we sit down at a table. "I know I promised, but whenever Harry was in the hospital when we were in Ireland, I died." I whisper. "Again." I add.

Niall gasps and I try desperately to go on. "And, I was so close to the afterlife, but I fought through it. My adopted sister helped me. So, anyways." I take a deep breath staring straight ahead. "And so she told me." My voice cracks slightly. "She told me that my adoptive mother is still alive." I whisper.

Niall's eyes soften automatically. "Hayley, why didn't you tell me before?" He asks pulling me into a hug.

"I didn't want to believe it. But I can't deny it any longer."

"So what now?"

My eyes harden. "We ignore the issue. I have to prepare for a performance tomorrow." I stand up.

Niall nods warily, but stands up. "Let's go?"

I nod determined. "Lets go." I confirm.

"And this is an exciting night." Mario greets. "Last year, we had an amazing season in the UK. There was huge competition, and the winner won by only ONE vote." The crowd gasps. "That was season seven in the UK. And here we are in America, looking for the next person who has the X-Factor." He pauses. "Tonight, somebody's going home. Someone will stop their X-Factor journey tonight at elimination." The crowd boos. "Like I said, last year was a tough competition. I was there, so I should know." He jokes weakly. "The winner was Tate Stevens who has already distributed his debut album already. The runner up was the amazingly talented Hayley Styles." The crowd cheers loudly.

I smile as he continues. "How many people would be excited if she performed tonight? If you'd be excited, scream a little louder!"

The crowd screams loudly. As loud when the lads go onstage to perform.

"Well you're in for a treat tonight!" Mario yells. "Hayley Styles, and her band Contagious will be joining us tonight!" He screams. "Let's bring out the judges!"

"Demi Lovato!" Demi comes out.

"L.A Reid!" He comes out onstage and joins Demi in the center of the stage.

"Brittany Spears!" Brittany joins them.

"And Mr. Simon Cowell!" Simon winks at the crowd.

"Lets get this started!" Demi yells.
