"Gaaah noo!" Regan huffs and throws her arms up in defeat. I was the ultimate master at videogames.
In the lounge, there is an X-box. Thank God. And Regan challenged me to a game that she always wins apparently. I accepted but warned her. She didn't believe me.
The hospital doesn't allow any shooting, war, murder or horror games. Which are my favorite type of videogames. But I understand why they don't allow them here.
All the sudden a light finger tapped on my shoulder. I look up to see the nurse I meet on my first day here. Nancy. "Hi Nancy. What's up?" I pause the game which earns an annoyed groan from Regan. "You have a visitor." she says softly.
My jaw drops. I have a visitor? I haven't had a visitor yet! (I don't count Grey because I kind of forced him to come). She leads me through to the foyer. I excitedly keep on her tail. I can't wait to see who it is. My eyes pop when I see who it is.
"Jordan?!" Jordan stands infront of the giant doors. A small, gentle smile sptead on his face. A little bouquet of flowers in his arms. I can't help but sprint towards him. He drops the flowers and opens his arms wide and I immediately jump into his arms. I nestle my face into the crook of his neck. And I actually found myself sobbing.
I pull away and look at him. "I am so sorry, Jordan. I didn't know what I was saying. I over reacted and I shouldn't have exploded at you. And I miss you so much it never was the same without you and I don't want to lose you. Please please forgive me!" I ramble on between sobs. Never have I spoken so fast in my life. I didn't even notice Jordan calling my name.
"Jade!" he yells. I quickly shut my mouth. "It's okay. It's okay. I know you where still sensitive about the whole situation and I shouldn't have been so blunt about it." he whispers. I quickly look over my shoulder to the front desks where a bunch of doctors and nurses where talking.
"I have something to tell you. But not here. Come." I whisper and grab his hand. I lead him to the backyard. We pass hallways and diffrent wings to the back doors. I look around to make sure no one was outside. Then I book it to the hill. At the the top of the hill, I unlock the gate to the Calming Gardens.
A beautiful garden here on hospital grounds which has a variety of diffrent flowers and plants. It's a place where the nurses will sometimes send you to "find your inner peace". I lead Jordan over to the little bench smack in the middle of the garden and sit down.
"Do you remeber those dreams I told you about?" I ask. "How can I forget?" he chuckles. I ignore him and continue. "Well, they're kinda the reason I'm in this place." I state. Explaining everything form start to finish was difficult. I had to explain everything from the day I stormed out of his house up to the point of yesterdays visit with Grey. After I finished, he remained silent for a few seconds.
"I swear I'm going to rip Blake's balls off and sow them onto his face." he mumbles. He tightens his fists into fight balls. His knuckles turning white. Jordan has always been protective of me. Ever since we were little.
"Nevermind Blake, he's not worth it." I say brushing the topic off. He relaxes a little but his fists never losen. "So...uh...The phone call was the same phone call in your dream?" he asked voice still tense laced with genuine confusion. I nod.
"And that means that Kayla is still alive and somewhere in the world." I sigh. He rubs the back of his neck. He is very confused. I can tell.
"Well what are we going to do about it?" he asks. "What can we do Jordan? We're only 15. And I think Grey is going to pay them and her kidnappers will bring her back." I say in a huff. "But what if they don't? What if they don't bring her back?" he asked. I shake my head and shrug. I have no idea what I was supposed to believe.
"Well we can't just sit here and do nothing!" Jordan says voice rising. I quickly shush him before looking behind me to make sure no one heard. Jordan's face turned dark. "Jade, If your dreams can actually tell what's going on somewhere in the world, maybe it can show us a clue to where she is!" he says.
Wait. What? "They just kind of come randomly in my sleep. I can't just make them happen. Plus I don't always get them. By the time I get another one, she could be dead!" I say lowly.
He shines me a small smile. "Well why not start now?" He pats his lap. Is he joking? I roll my eyes and throw my legs up on the bench. I drop my head on his lap and rearrange myself until I'm comfortable. He begins to gently rub my back. It remained like this for 10 minutes before I break the silence. "I can't guarantee this is going to work-" I begun but Jordan shushed me. I roll my eyes again before closing them. It felt lime 10 more minutes passed and I was starting to relax. And soon enough, I feel asleep.
**I sat alone in an empty, dark basement. I am exhausted. It takes every ounce of energy I have to just keep my eyes open. I am starving. I have already eaten the miniscule peices of bread that were spared for me. A creaking sound errupted the silence. I raise my head to see the men entering, bringing a warm scent of butter with them. They sit down at the little table in the corner and eat. I drop my head and try ignore the growling and cramping of my stomach.《Wait, Jade. Find a clue.》 I raise my head again in the direction of the men. I notice the bags that the food was in. But exhaustion blurred my vision. 《C'mon. Concentrate》 I narrow my eyes long enough to get a glimpse of the name and the logo of the bag: Cafe de Flore. 9 more days... is all that runs through my mind before I black out.**
I wake with a gasp. My hand slaps over my mouth once I remember where I was. I get of Jordan's lap. "What happened?" he asked curiously. I don't respond. I instead bolt out of the Garden.
Jordan runs after me calling my name. But I don't care. I slam open the doors and run for the lounge. Jordan quick on my tail. I run past main area of the lounge and to a door at the back of the room. Behind the door is a small room, a computer lab. It was completely empty which was good.
I run to the closest one and sit down. I turn on the computer and wait for it to load. Jordan sits in the chair beside me. "What's going on, Jade? What did you see?" he asked. But I ignored him. Once it loaded, I go to Google and type in: Cafe de Flore. And wait again. These damn computers are so slow! I sigh in frustration.
When its finally loaded, I click on the first website that pops up. My eyes widden at what I see. "What is it?!" Jordan asks anxiously. "Cafe de Flore was the place that Kayla's kidnappers ordered food from...In my dream..." I say.
"And?"
"And: Cafe de Flore is one of the oldest and most famous coffe houses..." I read
"...In Paris..."
