Chapter 27: Disaster

After the date with Shiriki, I had to call my girls up and tell them what happened. Visellia has gone to visit her boyfriend and I know my girls are still in town. They told me they would be here until next Monday.

We meet at the mall up the street from my campus. As we walk around Macy's, I begin to tell them what happened with Shiriki and me.

"It was so embarrassing, guys. I didn't know what to do." I cover my face in shame.

"Well, at least he was man enough to take you out, unlike Cole's rabbit ass." Kinsey shifts through some high priced shirts.

"I know...but it was so awkward for the both of us." I pretend to look at the shirts as well while waiting for an answer from them.

"I know this Shiriki guy likes you, Sirrah and you probably made the guy nervous as hell." Tyasia offers when she realizes Kinsey is too much into the clothes to answer. "I want you to try and see it from his point."

I tilt my head and listen.

"He is this broken guy that has been hurt before. He takes a shining to you after a few months of talking to you. He asks you out and is probably worrying if you will decline him."

I nod and continue to listen to Tyasia.

"You accept his offer but he is still nervous about how the date could possibly go. So, he is nervous and his nervousness gets the best of him. He messes up and you want to go home."

I understand what she is saying. Shiriki is a great young man with a lot of ambition and I am sure there are other females on the campus or just in general that would love him to do what he did for me. "I do like him a lot."

Kinsey smiles holding up a silk blue shirt with ruffle sleeves, "Well, go for it. Like I keep saying, 'anyone is better than Cole'." She observes the shirt and nods with approval.

Maybe they are right.
