Chapter 25: Support

Though hanging out with Visellia is always a welcoming thing, I love hanging out with my girls Tyasia and Kinsey a little more. They always keep it real and tell me like it is, rather I want to hear it or not. Andy used to do that but she wouldn't be as tender as Tyasia and Kinsey are. Andy is always blunt, I appreciate it but some topics are more sensitive than others are.

Tyasia and Kinsey both go to a different college than I do. Tyasia goes to a college in South Carolina for Business Administration and Kinsey goes to a college in Florida for Web Design.

We don't see each other much but we do try and talk to each other every other day. Then if that doesn't work or if one of us has something really juicy to tell, we meet up. We decided to meet up in Atlanta at the Fox Bros Bar-B-Q.

We all take a seat at a table and wait to be serviced.

"So, tell us what's been going on Sirrah." Kinsey smiles.

"Yeah, we are dying to know."

I arch my brow at where to begin. "Well, Cole and I are done. Completely this time." I tell them. "I found out that he and Andy had something going on."

"Damn," Tyasia says. "Sorry, Sirrah."

"Don't apologize to her." Kinsey hisses. "We tried to tell yo ass that in high school but you didn't want to listen, remember?"

I slump in my chair. "I do."

Tyasia slaps Kinsey's arm. Kinsey howls dramatically. "Stop being that way, Kinsey. Sirrah is hurting and as her friends, she doesn't need us to point fingers. She needs our support."

"I know, but still." Kinsey looks at me. "I am sorry, Sirrah. I shouldn't have said that. I just...it gets frustrating seeing you give your all to people to only have them spit in your face."

I look at Kinsey and her apology is sincere. It always is when she knows she is wrong. "It's okay, Kinsey. I guess I should have known better but I think I was blind-sided by what I didn't have. A boyfriend."

The waiter comes up and takes our drink orders. Then goes to fill the orders to give us time to look over the menu. We come here a lot so we don't really need to look at the menu for what we want. We always get the same things.

"That is understandable. Other than Cole's ass cheating, what else is new?" Tyasia asks.

"Well, there is a young man that I like. Really like."

"Oooh," They both coo with excitement. "Tell us."

"His name is Shiriki and he is just so handsome and generous. Like one of those old aged gentlemen." My eyes shift. "I just have an inkling that he is going to turn out like Cole did."

"You can't think of it that way, Sirrah." Kinsey plucks at the napkin that is next to her. "I mean....yeah...Cole was a triflin' ass cheater and you deserved better than him even if you think you didn't. However, not every boy is like Cole. You have to know that."

The waiter comes back with our drinks and takes our orders while placing bread in the middle of the table. We tell him what we want and he goes again to fill the orders while we dine on bread. This is how they get you full before eating the actual food. BREAD.

"I am starting to slowly get it." I pick up a yeast roll and begin to eat it. "I just need a better outlook on it. But, other than that school is great and everything is going fine. What about you girls?"

"Ugh, web designing class is killing me." Kinsey groans. "I swear if my teacher wasn't fine as hell I would be skipping class each day." She produces a picture of him on her phone and shows us.

Tyasia and I look at the picture of Kinsey's teacher. "Yeah, he is pretty hot there."

"Psh," Tyasia takes out her own phone. "I got something better and this is my Math teacher." She shows us a picture and Kinsey and I look at her teacher's picture. Our mouths drop open in shock at how handsome he is. Like a cross between Vin Diesel and Morris Chestnut. Just glorious.

Tyasia pulls her phone back. "He is not married, no kids, and he is 30 years old or something like that. I would so date him if I could."

"Are you working on that, Ty?" Kinsey jokes.

"Bitch I might be."

We howl with laughter as the server comes with our food.
