**Requested by my thoughts at 1:30 in the morning when I couldn't sleep.**
You groaned, dropping your forehead into your hands. There was only 1 more hour of class. One more, and then you'd be free of high school for the rest of your life. The final bell would literally be the sound of freedom ringing, however, the clock seemed to be stuck at 1:40. Outside, the weather was stunning, and you could feel the warm summer breeze ruffle your hair as it blew through the open windows. The sun was warm, and the birds were chirping happily. And here you were, stuck in physics.
You briefly wondered what Deidara was doing, trapped in his class. You had told him not to take that particular art course, Art History, because you knew it was all about how art had lasted over the centuries, having taken it yourself earlier that year. But he had insisted. And every day for the last semester you had heard him complain about how real art is fleeting, and about how much he hated the class every chance he got. Which, as his girlfriend, you felt obliged to put up with, even though he did it to himself. You glanced at the clock again out of habit. 1:42. The teacher wasn't even teaching, but, you couldn't leave, because your school was a stickler about attendance. Yippee. Groaning again, you dropped your head into your arms. Maybe you could sleep the hour away.
What seemed like an eternity later, but was in reality only about 45 minutes, the peaceful sounds of summer were shattered with the sound of an explosion. You jump so violently you almost toppled out of your chair.
"What the hell ?!"
Your classmates looked around with the same shocked expression, but after recovering from the initial heart attack, you started to realize who it most likely was making all of that racket.
Trust you to fall in love with the totally bomb-happy senior you called your idiot boyfriend.
What surprised you, though, it that no fire alarms were going off. The teachers were all out in the hallways, no doubt trying to figure out what was going on. Suddenly, however, another bang followed the first, and then another, and another after that. You, as well as your classmates, ran to the window, watching in fascination as fireworks were shot into the sky from the stadium. Even though it was broad daylight, the colors and shapes were still breathtaking. The fireworks display lasted until the final, final bell of the school year rang, and you ran with the crowd of enthusiastic students, all of whom were heading towards the stadium, curious as to where the fireworks came from.
As you walked past the bleachers, a hand grabbed your arm, pulling you underneath them and silencing your startled scream with a kiss. After recovering from the shock, you looked up to see the beautiful blue eyes of none other than Deidara himself. You grinned.
"That was totally you." You said, stating it more than asking it. He winked at you, causing your heart to flutter.
"If course it was, un," he said, looking proud of himself. "We're seniors, and as of now, we're done with high school.... May as well go out with a bang, hm!"
You rolled your eyes, but couldn't help but laugh at his stupid pun, standing on your toes to kiss him again. He was right, you were finally free from high school....
This summer would be the best one yet.
