By the time the next math test was to be taken, Malia understood almost everything that had been highlighted is red and yellow. Isaac prided himself with the fact that he was the one who did that. They spent hours on end just talking through the problems she didn't understand until finally, she got it. Malia always got so excited when she finally understood, Isaac found it unbelievably cute.
As they took their test, Isaac watched Malia out of the corner of his eye. She whizzed through problems without any hesitation, she was doing amazing, and Isaac was proud of that. They both finished their test around the same time and handed them in.
"Thank you so much!" Malia exclaimed. She had followed Isaac to his locker after class.
"No problem, Malia." Isaac smiled sweetly. He wanted her so bad, but Stiles had explained to him that she had been a coyote for over nine years and still didn't get some of the concepts of human emotions. So he had to wait until she was ready, which he didn't really mind, it was just tedious.
"No... really, thank you." Malia said softly, although it seemed almost... frustrated. Like she was trying to convey feelings that just wouldn't come out.
"Really, it was no problem Malia." Isaac chuckled. Malia nodded although she still seemed upset.
"I don't know why, but being around you makes me feel..... I don't know the word!" Malia groaned.
"Flustered?" Isaac supplied helpfully. She nodded, eye's going wide.
"And my stomach... it.... I get..."
"Butterflies." Isaac nodded.
"Yeah, that weird fluttery feeling!" She said. Isaac smiled. "What does it all mean?" She asked.
"Well, usually, it means you really like the person that makes you feel that way." Isaac explained. Malia nodded vigorously.
"I do like you!" She smiled.
"It also depends though, sometimes you like the person romantically or just like a friend." Isaac said softly. Malia looked confused.
"What's the difference?" She asked softly.
"Well, if you just like me as a friend, then you want to hang out, talk, spend time together...."
"And what would I want to do if I liked you romantically?" Malia asked, she seemed closer now.
"The same things.... except you might want to kiss me... hug me... do....other things with me." Isaac explained. Malia leaned in closer.
"What type of other things?" She asked, her breath fanning across his face.
"Maybe..." the bell rang, startling Isaac from his train of thought. Malia smirked and started to walk away.
"See ya later Isaac." She said sweetly, before she disappeared around the corner of the hallway.
Isaac sighed as he shut his locker. Was she being serious... or just messing with him?
