[Elsa's POV]

*March 27*

Everyone in the neighborhood attended at the rainy funeral. The coffin was lowered down and everyone started shedding tears. Mr. Overland was there and Emma accompanied him. He wiped a single tear that escaped from his eyes. "I will miss you." He said. "Everyone will miss you."

The crying went worse when the men started to cover the coffin with soil, burying it to the ground, I sniffed and wiped a tear with my handkerchief.

Then the people started leaving and the rest of us stayed. "Adios me compadre." Mr. Overland said. "Your father was a good man." He turned to Kayla who smiled at him sadly in return.

Kayla's 72 year-old father died because of cardiac arrest. He was such a good man and he did raised her well, his father was the former president of the neighborhood, when he retired 23 yeard-old Kayla replaced him. His father helped almost everyone in the neighborhood. And we weren't excluded.

"He's in a better place now." I said to her and she nodded.

"Yeah, I imagine him drinking beer upstairs." She chuckled a bit and the sniffed. "I really bet he's happy now."

I was about to reply when my phone suddenly rings, I excused myself from everyone and answered the phone. "Mer?"

"Elsa, you still at the funeral?" She asked and I nodded, forgetting that can't see me.

"Yeah, I still am, what time will we start the graduation practice?"

"2:30."

I looked at my black watch and the time reads 1:20. "I can make it, I'll be there."

"Okay...see you." Then we hang up.

"Hey, Kayla, I'm afraid I have to go, we still have our graduation practice." I said and she nodded.

"It's okay, Els." She replied. "Thank you for coming though."

I smiled at her before telling mom and Anna that I have to go. "Elsa, Hans will take you to school, we'll go with Kayla." Mom said and I nodded before leaving.

After our graduation practice, I decided to buy some flowers and fruits, and then I headed to the hospital. The receptionist smiled at me in a friendly way and I smiled back at her before I carry on (trying to resist on saying 'MY WAYWARD SON') walking.

I slowly opened the door and there I saw Jack lying peacefully on the hospital bed, his steady heart monitor is the only sound that can be heard. "Yo." I greeted but then I mentally slapped myself. "Jack."

I put the flowers and fruits on the nightstand beside his bed and sat on the plastic chair beside him. "So...it's almost graduation day and you missed a lot of practice." I said to him...or if he's really listening. "You don't wanna miss graduation, do you?"

I looked at him as if I was waiting for his answer. But as usual, he was just there, sleeping...his chest, falling and rising steadily, his heart monitor indicating he's still alive.

*March 29* (it was our graduation day...last 2014 xDD)

Right after the graduation was done, I rushed to the hospital with mom and Anna, I didn't care if I was still wearing my toga, and carrying two diplomas in my hand. "Jack, look! We're graduates!" I cheered. "Our hard works' paid off! We got our diplomas!" I was still panting while standing beside his bed. "Come on, Jack! You studied too hard for the finals the past week, I know you wanted to hold this." I said, handing out his diploma, but still he wasn't awake...not like what I hoped. I decided to open the scrolled paper and read it. "Congratulations to Manolo Jackson Overland for graduating in senior high school, given this on 29th of March."
