"Ugh, he's so adorable and I'm just normal. Like on a scale of one to ten my hotness is a seven or eight if you wanna be generous but he's like a fúcking twelve and a half!"

Audriana and I sat on my bed, SpongeBob on the television and chips, chocolate, and ice cream surrounding us. She came over that night while Sebastian, Niall, and Harry left to their party. She was my best friend and we had survived all of middle school and our first year of high school together.

We were opposites in so many ways but we made it work somehow. She was used to drinking, smoking weed, and going to third base with hot guys while I had hesitation about even thinking of showing my boobs to a guy cute or not.

"You're so pretty, Calypso stop it! Like, if I wasn't into guys, I'd probably bang you," she said as she stuffed a marshmallow in her mouth.

My name was also weirdly the exact opposite of me. I had been named after a sea nymph (my mom was weirdly into mythology in the 90's) while my brother had been named after a Caribbean crab. He was actually named after my grandfather but being named after a sea creature in a Disney film seemed like a much cooler story.

"As awesome as that compliment is, I'll pass on the lesbian sex," I giggled with a half bitten twix in my hand.

"Oh shut up," she slightly nudged me. "You're so cool. He doesn't know what he's missing. So here's what you gotta do alright," she turned her torso to face me completely.

"Oh no, I'm not listening. You're plans always involve me doing something I'm highly uncomfortable with."

"This ones good I promise!" She chewed her snickers as she tried to convince me. "Monday morning, we're gonna dress you up so cute and so sexy, he's not gonna help but notice you. I would do your hair and makeup and stuff but I can't do girly stuff like that."

Audriana was on the soccer team and field hockey team. She was an amazing player and had even been on the news a few times for her outstanding performance on the field. I myself was a track runner and Audriana had forced me to try out for cheerleading and I had surprisingly made it.

My family thought me making the cheer team would break me out of my shell and help make more friends but I stayed the exact same. I didn't make any long lasting friend ships with the girls and we truthfully all hated one another.

But I had to admit that the uniform did make me look super pretty and I saw guys even have to give a double take when I walked through the halls in my crop top. None of them really caught my eye and if they did, the attraction didn't last very long when they realized I wasn't putting out.

"I'm not good at being sexy! I'm just so bleh," I waved my hands in no particular pattern.

"You're a fúcking cheerleader. You are the epitome of sexy! Guys type you in the search bar of their pørn sites. You're too busy waiting for Harry to pay attention to you and not focusing on the other thirty guys vying for your attention," she sat on her knees in frustration while I stood by the corner of my bed.

There were no guys fighting for my attention. I would have noticed if they were! And I wasn't waiting on Harry; I was just.... waiting on Harry, I inwardly sighed.

"......Fine," I threw my hands and immediately crossed them in defeat, "pick a cute outfit but something I'll like and I guess I'll look up some makeup tutorials on YouTube because I have no idea how to do anything but eyeliner."

"Hėll yes!" She jumped around, another snickers in her hand and slightly melted.

I couldn't fight the smile that crept on my face at her excitement and was even more excited for myself. Even the thought of Harry Styles noticing me had me a giggling mess as Audriana rushed off to my closet as I sat at my desk and clicked on the Google Chrome icon.
