~ Naomi ~

"I'm sorry for going ghost. I'll make it up to you," I cooed, rubbing his smooth caramel cheek as his head laid on my chest.

"I'ma hold you to that." he chuckled, looking up at me with his zealous eyes.

My fingers ran from his face to his dreads as my phone started ringing.

"Wait Xavier," I reached to the far side of the bed.

I sighed, rolling my eyes at the unsaved number and picking it up as the time on the digital clock hit 6:00.

"For the last time Camerin, leave me the hell alone. It was one night-"

"Who you think you talking to?" a husky voice asked and my heart jumped.

"'Robi! You're out?" I squealed.

"Yeah. Anthony just picked me up. I'm bout to come through, and it better not be a nigga there."

"No promises," I giggled and we said our loves and byes.

"C'mon, my brothers coming." I got up, trying to drag Xavier with me.

"Xay, it's not a big deal. C'mon, I have no other family." I pouted, trying to get him not to leave.

"I guess Naomi," he sighed, walking back to the kitchen's breakfast bar and taking a seat.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you," I kissed his cheek in between every two words, and washed my hands to continue breakfast.

I had known Xavier since high school and the only thing that's changed about him was his dreads got longer and he grew facial hair.

But after all, he was my first boyfriend, love and everything until we broke up due to him switching schools when we were juniors.

Alyssa came in, grabbing a Gatorade out the fridge and gave Xavier a disgusted look up and down before leaving.

"What's good with her?" Xavier chuckled.

"I don't know," I shrugged.

After making Xavier's favorite, breakfast for dinner, monkey bread danishes with fried eggs to the side, an oh too familiar knock beat on the door sounding like Heard Em Say by Kanye West, which we used to play almost every morning before we went to school.

I fixed my clothes which consisted of a grey half shirt and jeans and jogged to the door, opening it.

I threw my arms around Naorobi's neck and hugged him tight as he did the same and I found myself bursting in tears.

It had been three years too long and I smiled at Anthony as he awkwardly watched the both of us embrace each other.

I pulled away as the smell of food made Naorobi come to his senses and he moved me aside to go to the kitchen.

"Hi to you too," I followed him as Anthony came in and closed the door.

I honestly didn't want to look at him, considering we had fucked a few days ago, but I wasn't going to put him out.

"Who this?" Naorobi asked with his mouth half full and pointing at Xavier who was nose first into his phone with his cap pulled low.

"What's up?" Xavier mumbled, locking and putting down his phone.
