It has been two years since we have arrived here. I don't want to be here any longer. I feel like a caged animal. We have all changed in our own ways, some of us more than others. Luke has stayed mostly the same. We have been stuck in this routine everyday. Some days I get to go out and patrol the outer grounds. River Mount has stopped accepting people. The camp is getting too full. People try to attack, we fight back. Because that's what you do now. Fight for your life. I get up from the cafeteria we are all sitting in. It is lunch, that will distract them from what I am about to do. I stand next to Luke and squeeze his hand.
"I'll be right back." I lie. I walk out the lunch room doors and head down the hall. I have memorized the hallways now. I walk to the front door.
"Where are you going, little lady." The new security guard asks me.
"I just need some air." I lie again. I breathe my final breathe of that cold hard air. He opens the door and I walk out. He doesn't know that I will never return. I will walk until my legs give out. Until my stomach eats my body from the inside out. I do not want to return. And I will not.(A/N: YAY guys this is the last chapter!! I'm gonna kind of miss writing this book, Comment if you want me to post the sequel I'm writing. Thanks for reading☺️)
