Harry's POV

"Why didn't you tell me?" I asked Fran while shaking my head.

"What was there to tell? I didn't think it was important" she huffed out in frustration.

"When your father is one of the richest people on the planet, it's pretty important" I growled.

"Why? Would it of changed anything between us?" Her voice cracked.

I took a deep breath, "No.. I just, Fran... This is.. A big.. Shock, that's all" I said taking a seat next to her. She slightly flinched at our close proximity.

"Imagine this! He cut my mother and I off! He's only paying my tuition because he feels guilty! You think I wanted to leave my previous school? Everyone knew our situation because it was in the papers. Why do you think my mother and I are living in a shitty apartment while he and his whore are living in the house I grew up in, and guess what! I'm not even welcomed there anymore" she choked back a sob.

"I thought your parents divorce wasn't finalized, can't your mom still get something?"

"He had her sign a prenuptial agreement, she was young, naive and in love. She believed everything he said and trusted him" she looked at me with sad eyes.

"Francis, I'm so sorry I didn't tell you, you can trust me." I kissed her forehead. I moved down to her lips and that's when I tasted it. Her tears.

"Everything around me is so fucked up" she cried. "I want to be angry with you, but I can't"

My heart clenched at her words.

"I can't trust anyone, anymore" she sobbed.

"No Fran, you can trust me." I said as she cried into my chest. "You can trust me"

"What was that all about" Fran's mother asked me as I slowly closed her daughters bedroom door.

Fran had fallen asleep in my arms.

"Fran told me about her father" I said causing her to flinch.

"Oh"

"I'm sorry" I blurted.

"For what? That's just life" she shrugged.

"I'm still sorry" I didn't know what else to say. "You shouldn't of gone through that. Richard.. Is a good guy.. Don't let Michael get in between you both"

She slightly nodded.

"Thank you, for being there for my daughter" she said as she left me in the hallway.

Leaving me with my thoughts.
