"I can't believe this is happening!" Carson squealed as she signed her name on the dotted line. She quickly handed the pen to Mona before fanning herself. "This is a dream"
The man smiled at her before moving his eyes to me.
That's when I realized Mona was finished and was handing the pen to me.
Oh.
I blushed, "thanks"
I quickly signed my name before letting out a breath of air I didn't know I was holding.
The three of us smiled at each other before cheering.
"I'll be right back" I said leaving the room.
I quickly looked through the contacts on my phone and looked for the name that still made my heart flutter at the sight of it.
It rung.
And it rung.
When I didn't get an answer I sighed. He was probably in class.
I took a deep breath before entering the room again and plastering a fake smile on my face.
I didn't want it to bother me.
But I feel him pulling away from me everyday.
The familiar ringtone started to play and I immediately picked it up.
"Babe!"
"Yeah" he answered blandly.
"Are you okay?"
"No I'm perfect" he replied sarcastically.
My heart dropped.
"I just wanted to tell you we got the record deal" I said, no longer full of excitement.
"Oh..." There was a long pause. "That's great Francis" the tone of his voice was genuine but something didn't seem right.
"You are still coming tomorrow aren't you?" I asked hesitantly.
He sighed, "I don't know"
The voice in my head was telling me that this was it. This was the last of our relationship.
