A month Later. after Amelia was tooken.

I don't know where she is, we've been in South America since last sunday, Marcy is pregnaunt, five months. Suta is gone, hasn't been seen since. I am worried for Amelia and what they are doing to her, I know she's alive, it wouldn't feel like this if she weren't. For the past week i've shut everyone out. I blame myself for intruding like that, if i hadn't she wouldn't be gone. I've been helping Marcy a lot, she is depressed and that isn't good for the baby, if you are depressed when your pregnaunt your baby will be very sad. It's not a good thing, so me and my brother Jed try our best. All the guys are working hard. We gathered our old soldier buddies from military school together. Every since we left America, We have been watching them. America is now a society in which you may not speak to anyone out of your city, you must keep your secrets and opinions to yourself. It's horrible, but Good thing we aren't there.

Chet's been sad too lately, he's always like this when it comes to children having to go through this and aduls and families. He's scared too, i know, because he sometimes departs from us and is in his room for hours. I'ven't the gut to talk to him. We all have the feeling like we are going to die in this battle, and the only thing i can hold onto is that Amelia is somewhere in america and alive. I am thrieving till we invade America, then i'm breaking protocol and finding her and her brother, if he's alive.

"Rufus," Jed says softly as he comes into the four bed bedroom.

It's crowded in Antonio's house, he's a friend of ours from the military who so kindly let us stay here with our buddies and his. We are planning a envasion, but no until we travel to Chile, Argentina, Peru, and Ecuador for more soldiers who are willing to join.
"Yeah", I say as I get up from the bed.
"There's food," Jedidiah says.

I stand and follow him into the crammed living room and dinning room.

There's about thrity of us living here, and half of us have to sleep outside in his sheds. We're leaving to Peru tomorrow and gathering any men who want to join our rebellion.

I sit down on the couch and then for the first time in a while, Chet asks for a prayer.

When Chet asks for prayers its so rare and it usually means something really bad. We pray for the people in the US in the society, he passes a chain prayer and it's soon my turn.

I take a deep breath, embarassed and scared of my words.

"God bless us and forgive us of our sins, Be with the ones we love," I say and squeeze the hand beside mine, passing down the chain prayer. We break away two minutes later and grab sandwhiches, heading back to our rooms.

I share mine with Marina, Marcy, and Blake.

I sit in the far corner, looking outside.

I feel the bed move and look up to see Marina there. Indian style, and giving me a reasurring smile.

"We'll find her," she whispers as I pull her into my arms and lay with her looking out the window.

"Rufus, I really am sorry we couldn't get to them, if i'd been more accurate, maybe she wouldn't be gone", she says.

She's been blaming herself since she told me that she found out about the soldiers in the house in Michigan.

"Stop blaming yourself", I say sitting up.

"But, it's mmy fault," she says as tears prick her eyes. I have figured, for the last couple weeks that Amelia and Marina and Marcy built a closed relationship, a very close one too.

I give her a sad smile.

"It wasn't your fault, if i had not ran out of the room with Marcy and her, we'd be safe", I say.

"Hey, both of you stop blaming each other, we didn't know they were that close, it's no ones fault, but theirs", Blake's voice booms from the doorway as he comes in, locking the door.

We had a drawing for the bedrooms when our friend Antonio let us stay here with the men we had brought from america with us. Blake had cheated us into a room.

Marina huffs and crosses her arms. She stands and goes over to Blake who pulls her into a hug.

"It's okay", he whiseprs as she nods and heads into the attached bathroom.

"Stop blaming yourself", he says when the bathroom door closes.

"How do i not blame myself when i was there when it happened," I say.

"Bro, you care for her, we know, but blaming yourself isn't getting us anywhere", Marcy finally speaks from the other dark corner of the room.

She wears a sweater of Suta's and his boxers. It almost makes me smile that she's staying comfortable. Her stomach is bigger and she is eating way more, Antonio even bought her ice cream bars, since she told Marina she was craving them.

The only thing anyone would catch when they look at her is the unsettling worry in her eyes. Worry for Suta never comming back, Worry for her baby, Worry for her life, and Worry for everyone else who is dying as we stand here safe.

Blake and I are silent now as we look at her stand and step into the lamp light of Marina's bed.

"Okay", I say in apology.

she lays her hand on her tummy wincing. she says that sometimes the baby gets happy and kicks or gets mad and kicks. I bet he's mad right now.

This child is going to have lots of mood problems when it's born, i'm just making it worse.

"you should get some rest", Blake says backing me up for once this week.

"I don't want too," she says softly and then sits down in the desk chair.

She either eats, sleeps or sits and thinks everyday. Ever since Suta and Amelia have been gone.

"It's a boy", she whispers.

"I am going to name him Eric," she says softly.

she looks sad, but Blake gives her a heart breaking smile.

"It'll be the bes tboy we've ever seen", he compliments as she makes a happy laugh.

Why don't blake ever show some friendship with her, since all i do is hurt people.

I slump onto my bed and grab a cigarette bud from the ash tray, since i don't have another cigarette. I light it and feel my lungs.

I sit there for five minutes like this, tilll i can' hold he cigarette without burning myself.

I throw it on the floor.

"Here bro," Blake says and throws me a brand new box with a Beer.

"Thanks", I say as I see Marcy drinking a Caprisan as she laughs at something Blake had said. Blake is now sitting in a bean bag, joking with Marcy as they play video games.

Marina comes out of the bathroom in a robe and Blake jumps up whistling as he chases her into the bathroom closing the door.

I can here the dorr shaking as he makes out with her.

Marcy doesn't speak while their gone.

"Why do you do that?" she asks after a few moments.

"Do what?" I say puffing smoke.

"Smoke", she asks in disgust.

"It calms me, i'm sorry for being rude earilier", I say as she nods.

"I'm glad that i have someone to talk to that's going throught the same as me", she says smiling.

"I'm not pregnant," I smirk as she laughs.

"No, not that, i mean both our lovers are gone,"She whispers sadly.

I frown. We are going through the same, i wish we were fine.
