I'm not into games boo...

I won't entertain you...

I'd been talking to this girl for almost thirty minutes and was already tired of her. I would've asked her to dance if she wasn't babbling so much.

Shawty was really going off for no apparent reason.

Michael waved his hands in the air to get my attention and I already knew what we were about to get into. Bro saved me for real.

I pointed to where he was at so the girl could take a hint and she nodded her head. I just hoped when I got back she would already be gone.

Getting up I peeped Chris, August, and Drake heading out as well. S*** felt like old times already. The only thing that would really make it nostalgic would be if Dani had a doleful expression on her face. Looking to my left to see her, she actually did.

Danielle didn't really like when my cousin Michael smoked, but at least he was getting better. Dude used to be a serious stoner.

Trey never really tagged along because smoking wasn't really his thing. And like me he was an athlete. In about a year or two he'd probably be in the NBA though.

The only one missing was Chance. He was still back at school. If he were here he'd be the most hyped to smoke.

Once we all linked, we got into Michael's car and I pulled everything out of the dashboard.

"Ahh. Mikey got that good sh-t today," Drake spoke excitingly. People don't know how to act once they see some good weed.

"When have I not ever had good s*** though," Mike questioned while lighting the blunt up. He had everything rolled at times. We trusted him though. I know my cousin. He wouldn't do anything crazy and give us shawg or laced marijuana.

I took a pull and passed it to Chris. I could feel my throat burn a bit and as if I needed to cough, but I held it down. My schools strict when comes to drugs and drinking so I couldn't have anything negative in my system while I was away at school. My parents would kill me if they found me positive for something.

"Yo, is it me or is Cherie different," Drake blurted after he took a hit and passed it to Mike.

"I was thinking the same thing. Maybe the fit. I don't know," August replied smiling at me a bit and I turned tensely to pull the blunt away from Mike.

"Naw it's everything....She grew up ohdee and look good as f-ck....Went away to Boston and came back with a crazy ass body. Gah damn," Drake bluntly remarked then laughed.

Drake, was the type of dude you either loved or hated. No in betweens with him. He constantly kept it real. And sometimes too real for people. But my clique ain't have no problems with that. We were all "real." In high school we used to call ourselves "the realest n*****" Corny as hell? I know.

"N****," Chris pled while looking sour.

"It ain't like I hit. I'm just stating facts. Be happy that you related to her fine ass," Drake retorted causing us all to laugh. Chris had to laugh as well. He couldn't feel any type of way knowing that Drake was harmless.

Drake continued, "you know that's all O anyway."

Here he goes starting. I tell them one lousy story and all of a sudden Cherie "belongs" to me.

"Man, you need to quit," I muttered. We all go out the car and they clowned me all the way back to the party.

Mostly everyone was dancing including Cherie who was with some random dude. I ain't ever seen him around before. I could've been an asshole and pulled her away. But I just smoked and wasn't in the mood for whatever "Cherie" she was going to be at the time.

I don't want to give her the wrong idea. She might think I'm jealous, but it ain't that deep.

Once the song was over Cherie came over to where we were sitting before. I gently grabbed her hand and pulled her into me a bit.

"Come on let's dance." She simply shook her head and replied, "let's not."  Frontin'.

"Come on Cherie. You were just dancing."

"I know and I don't feel like it anymore." Her response wasn't assertive, rude, playful, or nonchalant; but it was damn sure awkward and stand offish.

After getting her hand out of my grasp she walked over to where the drinks were.

Like an idiot I followed. I wasn't feeling her attitude at that moment. Yet, I felt like I had to talk to her. She's still one of the closest people to me and I'm not feeling how she's making me feel.

As she poured some of the spiked punch into her cup I questioned her. "Why you act like that around me now?"

"Act like what?" Now there was a change in her manner. Her expression was so sarcastic. S*** was ruining my high and I kind of knew where this was headed.

She began walk to the front of the house, and again I followed her.

Couldn't help, but notice how phat her ass got and it made me smirk to myself. Cherie really did grow up. Yet, somehow, the innocence that she always had was still somewhat there.

While she sat on the porch, I joined her and she looked taken aback that I did.

"So you're acting like this because....," I nonchalantly inquired. I know I was pushing her buttons. That's just my nature.

"Odell don't go there. Leave me alone."

Snapping my fingers I responded and joked, "Oh I know I went there honey." I resembled a bird. Her face read, "this is why I hate you."  Usually she would laugh at me.

I admit I always joke around when things get serious. I just don't like when situations are awkward and she was making it.

Taking a sip from her cup she said, "Please. I don't want to talk about this."

That was just like her to try to slide it all under. Couldn't blame her though because I was kind of the same way. In a way we were too much alike.  That was one of our main problems.

"I want to. I mean, is it because of what happened before you left?" She got up and I knew s*** was about to get "real."

"No Odell. It's not awkward because I kissed you, you kissed me back, and called it a mistake and we haven't really talked since then."

Didn't think about it like that.

"When you put it like that,...the s*** seems awkward."

"Is that not what the f*** happened?"

Leaving me there to ponder she went back into the party. My high was half way blown and I knew going after her would probably fully blow it away. I wasn't even down to entertain her at the moment.

This break wasn't going to be smoother than I thought.
