"Life is filled with surprises.

Some are good.

Some are bad.

& some are just random."

Coffee date? That's what came to mind when I walked into Starbucks, but I was probably just overthinking. I looked over to the left corner and decided it would be best if I sat there by the outlet to charge my phone. How is it that I'm the one here first? I guess I had thought too soon because Chris walked right in and immediately spotted me. He waved and I smiled. Didn't want to be corny and wave back. My wave would've probably have been too enthusiastic. Putting his arms out for a hug, I got up to give him one.

"You want something," he asked politely. Might as well get the usual. "Uh I'll have a Venti Iced Caramel Macchiato and a Very Berry Coffee cake." In about four minutes Chris came back with everything and I thanked him. My muffin was on point and my macchiato could've used some more caramel, but I wasn't trying to be a b**** about it. "So the reason I asked you out was so we could talk about Cherie's birthday. I know when I spoke to you at first it kind of sounded like I was asking you out out," he spoke out with a small smile. Like I thought; I was just overthinking it. "My bad if it did," he continued still smiling. I smiled back and murmured, "oh no. I just didn't know what this was for." This is why I never get my hopes up for anything.

"Yeah, I don't know. I felt like maybe I came off like that, but then I thought if you thought it was a date you probably would've turned me down anyway," he laughed right after saying it. But if I didn't know any better it came off as if he was shy for a second. The laugh even sounded like a nervous one. "So what were you thinking about doing for Cherie's birthday," I questioned looking up after taking a sip of my drink. I was seriously obsessed with Starbucks. This would've been cute if it were a mini date. Just saying.

"I wanna have a surprise birthday party for her. But I need help with inviting everyone. I got a homie who could have it at his club, and let us have the v.i.p for the night. You know?" What a brother? My siblings probably wouldn't do this for me which is a shame. Cherie's so difficult though; because you would think she would want one thing and she'd end up wanting the other. Always unpredictable; especially when it came to her birthday. One year she wanted to party and the next she would rather stay home and watch a SVU marathon. "The night that I want to have it, they got Dave East hosting it," Chris announced proudly. Oh Cherie was definitely going to love this.

I shook up and could feel someone's presence over me. When I opened my eyes it was just Odell's dumb ass smiling like the dumb ass that he is. "Wtf are you doing in my room," I asked with my raspy voice. He covered his mouth and backed up. "Go brush your teeth." I knew he was exaggerating because I didn't even speak in his direction. "And hurry up. You supposed to be going to the airport with me. Remember?" How he even got in my room is what had me tripping out. My father would kill him. I got up and started whining. "I don't even.....Ughhh go ask someone else." "Cherie if you don't go it that damn bathroom and get ready." He wasn't going to do sh-t, but I went in the bathroom, brushed my teeth and took a shower like the good friend that I am.

"Why are you still in my room? I need to get dress. Get out O." He glanced over and started checking me out. "Chill ain't nobody here. Your mom let me in and I'm watching something," he smirked and nodded towards my tv. He was watching Sportscenter which I'm sure he could watch in the comfort of his home at any given time of the day. Not wanting to argue, I simply grabbed some clothes and shoes to change into so I could go in my little sister's room and change there. "Why you can't just change here C?" I ignored Odell and went about my business. Is he stupid? He must want 'something' to happen. Once I was done I walked in and told him that I was ready. We walked out and hopped in the car and my stomach started to growl. He looked at me sheepishly and said, "I'll buy you breakfast. It's the least I can do." I just looked at him with the stalest face and laughed.
