Annabelle turned her attention back to Simone. "I'm sorry about that interrupted." Annabelle said.
"It's fine. Ex girlfriend?" Simone asked.
Annabelle laughed. "No ex best friend."
Soon Colins came in. "Are you okay? I seen Cat was here."
"I'm fine. Colins why don't you take it easy and check on Porky." Annabelle said.
Colins eyes lit up. "You mean that?"
"Of course I do." Annabelle said.
Colins left leaving Annabelle and Simone alone.
"Who's Porky?" Simone asked.
"That would be Colins porcupine." Annabelle said.
"Interesting." Simone said.
"Yes Colins is like my sister." Annabelle said. "I looked after her since we were teenagers."
"That's good." Simone said.
"Tell me about Simone. I want to know more about her." Annabelle said.
"What's there to know?" Simone asked.
"Everything. What turns you on?" Annabelle smiled.
Simone laughed. "Like I would tell you that. A woman has to keep some mystery."
"Does that mean I can find out?" Annabelle asked.
Simone smirked. "If you dare to try to."
"I'm always up for a dare." Annabelle said. Annabelle stepped close to Simone again. This time she placed a kiss on her neck then came up to her ear. "I would tease you some more but I got to go sing. Maybe if you free later we can go grab a bite to eat."
Simone smiled. Her heart was beating loudly in her chest. How was she to handle the situation? She knew she shouldn't be this close to Annabelle but there was something about her. Something she wasn't quite sure of. She couldn't turn away. Who else was going to come in and take her place?
"You sing?" Simone managed to break the silence.
"Yes." Annabelle said. "Play guitar too."
"Wonderful I can't wait to hear you." Simone said.
"Why don't you stand in the front? For this song will be dedicated to you." Annabelle smiled.
"But you really don't know me." Simone said.
"I want to get to know you." Annabelle said.
Simone felt herself blush.
Annabelle opened the door and Simone followed her out.
"Feel free to get another drink on me." Annabelle said. Annabelle kissed Simone's hand before she got unto the stage.
Simone want and got another drink as Annabelle started to play her guitar. Simone walked over and stood by the front of the stage. Annabelle started to sing.
"In the space between what's wrong and right,
You will find me waiting for you.
All your fortresses go down in the night.
To the dawn I'll see you through.
'Cause I know, that you know,
You're all over me now.
And it's clear, it will show,
Your curtains will close.
But if is cold, my sheets are warm.
I will shelter you through the storm.
I will shelter you all through the storm."Simone locked eyes with Annabelle.
"The answers aren't so easy to find,
The questions will have to do.
'Cause I've lost myself deep in your life,
My only fix is you.
'Cause I know, that you know,
You're all over me now.
And it's clear, it will show,
Your curtains will close.
But if your heart is cold, my sheets are warm.
I will shelter you through the storm.
I will shelter you all through the storm.
Saying what I am, what we are,
It's a start towards the truth.
Taking my breath with each day,
All I can stand in my heart it's you.
In the space between what's wrong and right,
You will find me waiting for you..."Simone smiled. Everyone applauded and cheered. Annabelle stepped off the stage and went over to Simone.
"Did you want to go get something to eat on? My treat." Annabelle asked.
"You don't have to do that." Simone said.
"I want to." Annabelle said.
"I would like that a lot." Simone said.
"We are taking my motorcycle though." Annabelle said.
"I never been on a motorcycle." Simone said.
"What are you a nun?" Annabelle laughed.
Simone smiled. "No I'm not."
"You got a gorgeous smile." Annabelle said as she grabbed Simone's hand.
"Thanks." Simone said.
Annabelle walked towards the door as Simone continued holding on to her hand. Once outside Annabelle got onto her motorcycle and started it up. She helped Simone get onto the back. Simone wrapped her arms around Annabelle. Everything about this seemed right but Simone knew it wasn't a good idea. Yet something kept pushing her into Annabelle's arms.
Annabelle pulled into the parking lot of Harris's diner.
"This is my favorite place." Annabelle said.
"Mine too." Simone said.
Getting off the motorcycle they headed inside. Annabelle sat down in a nice booth as Simone sat across from her.
"I can take you home after this." Annabelle said.
"What if I want to go home with you?" Simone asked biting her lip.
Annabelle smiled. "Why would you want to come to my place?"
"Because I thought we would have a sleep over." Simone laughed.
Annabelle raised her eyebrows. "I don't take woman to my place until I know I can trust them." Annabelle said. "I will be more then fine with driving you home."
"Alright." Simone smiled.
An old man walked over to the table. "Simone." The man said.
"Dad." Simone smiled.
"Who is this lovely young lady your with?" Harris asked.
"Annabelle." Annabelle stood up and shook Harris's hand. "It's a pleasure to meet you."
"You too. You best take care of my daughter you hear." Harris said.
"Trust me sir she's in good hands." Annabelle said.
Simone melted as she listened to Annabelle talk to her dad. It was going to be so hard not to fall for Annabelle more then she already has. How was she to tell Immaculata? Immaculata wouldn't be happy at all about it. Simone didn't care anyone that treated her father the way that Annabelle was would be good enough for her.
