Ok, this chapter is really just to introduce Dylan to the story. Hope you all like it.

Chapter 2

Dylan P.O.V

For the past 10 minutes, I've sat in my car on campus, tapping the steering wheel, while having an internal conversation with myself. So far neither of us was winning.

‘Look, you idiot, you’ve come too far to turn back now,’ my inner voice argued.

‘Don't you think I know that? But, suppose she recognizes me? What do I do then?’ I argued back.

‘She is not going to recognize you. She never saw a face,’ my inner voice tried to reason with me. And besides, if she does recognize you, do what you do best. LIE!’

I let out a deep breath and looked at the entrance to the dorm again.

‘I don’t think I could go through with this,” I mumbled out loud.

“Look, you’ve been planning this since last year. You came all this way just to meet her. You’ve practically put your life on hold. You are already on campus. Man up and get out the fucking car!’ my inner voice shouted.

I put my hand on the door handle and was about to push it open when I thought again.

‘But what if…’ I never got to finish that thought.

‘GET OUT!!!’ the voice in my head yelled.

“Fuck it,” I murmured out loud pushing the door of my 2008 BMW open. I popped the trunk before I could change my mind and took out my bags. I then proceeded through the doors to the front desk.

I met the head matron Mrs. Winters. She made me think of grandma from ‘little red riding hood’.

She gave me a package containing key to room 804 and a booklet with the dorm’s rules and regulations.

I thanked her and then took the elevator to the 8th Floor. My room was the 3rd door on the left. Before I could drop my bags to fetch my keys, the door opened from the other side.

“Oh, hi,” a guy with emerald green eyes and shaggy blond hair greeted me. “You must be my new roommate. I’m Remy Marco,” he continued, observing my bags in my hands. “I was just heading out to get something to eat.”

I nodded in his direction, “Dylan Thorn.”

“Oh come in,” Remy opened the door wider for me to enter.

I took a quick look around, taking everything in. The walls were baby blue and the furniture was basic. “Which room is mine?”

“Your room is the door to the right and mine is to the left,” he responded.

“So where are you from? What are you majoring in? Remy asked curiously.

I dropped my bags on my bed and walked back in the living room. I’m from Denver but I moved to Washington about six years ago,” I told him. “I'm majoring in Corporate Management.”

“Corporate Management?” he enquired. “Is that anything like Business Management?”

“Ah-yeah I guess. A lot of the courses are similar. Why?” I asked.

“A friend of mine is starting college this semester as well. Her name is Payton. She doesn’t know anyone besides me and another friend, Abby. But Abby and I are seniors so Payts will more or less be on her own during class time,” he said.
