Hey guys! Mar here again, so, hi? I don't really want to include any spoilers but, the chapter will be pretty short, sorry. Life is just being life and stuff. Alright, I'm making the chapters short so that the story seems longer. DONT JUDGE ME! Or else I'll judge you. Anyways, enjoy the story!!!

THEY DON'T NOT HAVE A REASON TO BE BACK! THEY DID NOTHING WRONG!!!" Evie's mom shouted at the mayor. He didn't think the ducks should come back, but, her mom stood by her reasoning. For Evie. "GIVE ME ONE GOOD REASON THEY SHOULDNT COME BACK!"

"Too much money."

"I've never been more disappointed in this city, a concerned mother of a child who doesn't speak, and also has autism, wants to try to hear her child's laughter again, but money is far more important than a mother and Childs happiness. Even if the ducks were only in town for a few days. Shame on you Mayor Barslye, shame. On. You."

As she was making her exit confidently-

"Wait."

She turned to see the mayor lifting up his chin and extending his arm and fingers out towards her.

"Change of heart?"

"I wouldn't use that term, but, I may consider your offer of the ducks. Then again, the ducks would help her. I'll consider it."

She simply smirked at him with an 'I told you so' expression.

"Good."

She strutted her way out of the office and shut the doors behind her after she snootily winked at the mayor. She confidentially drove home, exhilarated to tell Evie the news. To the mother's knowledge, Evie was probably sitting at home, hearing nothing but either her music, or the quiet ticking of the clock. She likes to hear the sound of the clock. No one knows why though.

A few minutes before her mom got home, Evie sat watching the clock as tears welled up in her eyes. She had completed her homework without any hesitation, not to mention she finished the book she wanted to read. The same thought rolled through her mind, they don't understand. By the time her mom had come home, she wiped away her tears and had begun to cook dinner.

"Aw, how thoughtful." Her mother had said, Maybe I shouldn't tell Evie just yet, they'll come for her birthday, I want to see her face when she says her first words.

Evie simply nodded and smiled a little.
