They sat down to the dinner, Evie knew how to cook various dishes, but tonight, she made her mom's favorite dish: filet mignon with mashed potatoes and vegetables.

"Aww, sweetheart, how nice, you know I love it when you make this."

Evie nodded her head then went to hug her mother, she planted a kiss on her mom's forehead. Her mom hugged back delicately and pecked Evie on the cheek.

"Thanks, Hun."

Evie simply smiled, and since she had already eaten, she looked up at the clock and signaled her mom that she was going to get ready for bed. She ran up the steps and washed her face, brushed her hair, brushed her teeth, and went to the bathroom.

For a long time all Evie did was watch the clock on her nightstand. She played the sound of a metronome from her phone as she slowly began to drift off into sleep.

Her mom finished eating the food Evie had prepared and she rinsed off and washed the dishes. As she passed Evie's room she heard the sound of the metronome and paused. She looked through the crack in the door to see Evie lying down while waving her arms in the air in a continuous motion. To the mother, it seemed as though Evie was conducting. She smiled and pursed her lips together while taking in a deep and excited breath. Evie's birthday was only a few days away now. She couldn't wait to see the look on Evie's face when she saw the ducks.

What she didn't know was that Evie was asleep already. Evie was struggling in her sleep, she wanted to scream out, it was like she was in some sort of sleep paralysis. All she could do was try to get up, she was stuck.

The next morning, Evie didn't remember anything from the day before. All that rested in her mind was the word...
