Chapter 2

Hakyeon cant help the relieved sigh that escapes him when he steps out Into the snowy November night, scarf wrapped snugly around his neck as his fingers curl around an almost empty cup of coffee

"Time to enjoy the weekend" He smiles to himself, sipping his coffee as he walks along the dimly lit road. The snow crunching under his feet is the only sound around him and the streets are completely empty

He takes another sip of his coffee, letting out another content sigh as he watches the snow flakes float gently to the ground, covering it in a sheet of white

He bristles in fright when something brushes up against his leg, only to laugh as looks down to find a little black cat staring up at him, he can see his own chocolate orbs reflecting in the cats emerald eyes. Brightened by the moon

"What are you doing out here all alone huh" he coos lifting the small creature into his arm while discarding his coffee with the other

"Let's see if you have a name or an owner" he smiles to the feline who rubs it's nose against his cheek

"Mine" a voice whispers into the night before he has the chance to check the collar, raising his head he finds that the voice belongs to a young man around his age

The cat jumps out of his arms, padding silently over to the male who tucks it away in his coat, away from the falling snow

They stand for a while, his focus solely on the boy rubbing the cat between the ears

"Does it have a name?" He finds himself asking before he can stop himself

The boys eyes suddenly find his and he's taken aback by the intensity they hold

"Leo" he mutters, his voice low and soothing and Hakyeon finds himself smiling at his shyness, a big contrast to his sharp features

Before he can ask for his name the boy turns quickly, heading out into the night and he finds himself watching the stranger walk until he's out of sight

He lets out a breath he hadn't realise he was holding when his phone vibrates in his pocket and all thoughts of the mysterious stranger are forgotten as he answers a call from Jaehwan

"Where are you?, you where supposed to be here like an hour ago!"

"Hello to you too Jaehwan" he drawls sarcastically

"Yeah, yeah hello. Now where are you?" Jaehwan huffs and he chuckles at his childishness

"I'll be there soon, Jaebum made me restock the coffee beans before I left and that took a while" he sighs

"You sound tired" Jaehwan comments and he chuckles again

Trust Jaehwan to be able to read him like a book despite not actually being able to see him at the moment

"I am tired" is his reply as he makes his way home slowly

"I know I was the one who asked you to come but are you sure you want to come tonight?, we could always cancel and just go another time" Jaehwan suggests

He shakes his head for a second before remembering that Jaehwan is incapable of seeing him and answers with a curt 'no' "you've been talking about this all night, you are not chickening out now that it's actually happening" he warns sternly

"Yes eomma" Jaehwan mumbles sarcastically  

"Just hang tight, I'm going home to change then I'll be right over"

"You promise?" He can almost hear the smirk in Jaehwan's voice

"I promise" he deadpans

"Pinky promise?" His voice raises a few octaves and he's sure Jaehwan has that shit eating grin of his on his face
