Mason's P.O.V.

I quietly closed the door to Cassy's room and walked down the hall. I headed back upstairs to my room to take a shower and wash the blood of the man who attacked Cassy off of me. I inspected the damage as I walked up the stairs from the attack. There wasn't many things broken or missing so I decided I would get some people to fix it later. I walked into my room and peeled the blood encrusted shirt off of my back and stepped into the restroom.

I let the warm water of the shower soothe my aching muscles and used the time to think of the events that had happened today. Cassy had almost been hurt. I still didn't understand why I cared about her, but she was like a magnet she attracted me to her and there was no escaping it.

I heard a knock on the door interupting my thoughts. I quickly grabbed the towel and wrapped it around my waist. What I didn't expect to see was Cassy standing there. She was rubbing her arm and looking straight at me. It made me want to laugh when she blushed.

"Oh," she muttered. "You're busy. I-I'll come back later."
"No!" I said it a little louder than I had expected to. I'm a softer voice I replied, "I'm sorry. Wait here I'll be right back." I walked into the restroom again and quickly pulled my clothes on and went back outside. Cassy was sitting on the bed so I sat down beside her.

She looked up at me with a curious yet completely serious face. I studied her. All I wanted to do was kiss her small tender lips and make her see how much I cared for her. She stared back at me and finally spoke.

"Can I, um, sleep in here for tonight? I just don't feel, we'll you know..." She didn't finish her sentence before I said, "Sure."
I pulled her close to me and pulled the blanket over her. She was tense at first but began to loosen up. After a while I heard her breathing steady and it wasn't long before I also drifted into a deep and peaceful sleep.

In the morning the sun shone through the curtains and you could hear the birds chirping softly outside. I pulled a strand of Cassy's hair off of her face and kissed her cheek. I climbed out of the bed and walked out onto the balcony. It was a beautiful morning. I decided I wanted some coffee and left the balcony to venture to the kitchen.

I saw some of my men and nodded a hello to them. Jeremy was sitting at the counter when I got there already sipping on a steaming cup of coffee.

"Hey boss." He said. "Would you like a cup of coffee?"
"Sure man, thanks."
"So... That girl Cassy she's pretty hot don't you think? She's one set babe." I wretched out of my chair grabbed him by the keck and held him against the wall.
"Don't you ever talk about her like that again or you're dead!" I hissed loudly.
"Ok! Ok! MAN LET ME GO!" It was only then I realized that he had started turning a bright red. I released him and left him there gasping for air.

"I want her protected at all times." I said. I added with a large amount venom in my tone, "If any of you so much as touch her you're dead. Got it?" He nodded rapidly then froze. I looked over my shoulder to see Cassy standing there in the door frame.

"Want a coffee?" She nodded and sat down next to me.

We didn't talk about last night but I knew she was becoming more comfortable around me and I was glad.

ooohhh is Cassy really getting more comfortable around Mason? Let's see. THANKS ONCE AGAIN FOR READING.😁
