Cassy's P.O.V.

I sat by the bathroom door thinking about everything that happened. The gun shooting, my near death experience, and mist of all how Mason had held me when I was trembeling. That man that was dressed completely in black had held a gun to my head! I had already been kidnapped and now this! What a story this would become one day. I had meant what I said to Mason. How dare he take me away from my life? Who were these people really? I decided to take a shower maybe that would calm me down and let me arrange my thoughts. I tossed my dirty blood stained clothes in a corner and ran the water. When it was hot enough I stood in it and washed myself til I was practically sparkeling. I didn't want any trace of that man's blood on me.

I must've been in there for a while because when I got out my fingers were pruned with wrinkles. I was wondering what I would wear when I walked out of the bathroom. I saw a pair of jeans, a t-shirt, and some undergarments folded neatly on the bed. I sighed as I tugged on the clothes. They fit perfectly with the exception of the shirt, which was a little large. I glanced around at my surroundings and noticed several things that I hadn't before.

The walls of the room were an off white. On one side of the room the whole entire wall was covered in books. My eyes widened in amazement. I loved ti read, but now wasn't the best time so I looked at the other wall. It was the exact opposite. It was decorated with computer screens and a giant T.V. I had no interest in these things however. I walkef to tye door and once again tried to turn the handle. It didn't budge as I knew it wouldn't.

Then, I heard a click on the door and sprung away just in time to see Mason walk in with another tray of food in his hand. I stayed absolutely still and didn't move from the spot I was already currently in. He just stared at me, as if he was waiting for me to yell at him again. When he realized i wouldn't he cleared his throat and said,

"I'm sorry about today. If I had known that those men were coming I would've gotten you to a safer place. I just nodded but didn't say anything. Just then a tidal wave of anger erupted from me and I started beating my fists against his chest. I only hit him a couple times before he grabbed my wrists and dragged me over to the bed and threw me gently onto it's soft covers.

"Don't don't do that again." He growled. Then he reached to his back poket and I tensed not knowing what to excpect. It was a cellphone, he held it out to me and said, "I said before you could call your parents, but remember if you tell then anything about thus place or what happened today you'll regret it."

He handed me the phone which i reluctantly took. I gingerly dialed my mom's phine number. It rang once before she picked it up.

"Hello? This is Mrs. Johnson calling. How may I help you?"

"Mommy!?" I whisper shouted.

"Cassy?! Cassy baby where are you. I'm calling the police! FRED! GET DOWN HERE!"

"No mom! Don't do that, I'm alright. I can't tell you where i am, but I'll be alright." I replied trying to choke back the sobs that were making me shudder throughout my whole body. I looked at Mason with anger burning in my eyes. He had no right! I hear my mother and father crying on the other line so I muttered a quick goodbye and hung up the phone. I handed tge phone to him.

It was only then I had realized that Mason was still in his blood stained clothes from earlier. My eyes widened when I saw his shirt had both fresh and old crusting blood. Then I gathered up my courage and said,

"Who are you? Why can't I go home? Why are you keeping me here? Why is there blood on your shirt? Who were-" He put one hand over my mouth to stop the questions from coming out. The corners of his lips curved into a smile and he started to chuckle. Was he laughing at me? I felt my mouth turn into a scowl under his hand.

"Ok, I'll tell you." He took his hand off of my mouth. "You have to promise me you'll let me finish before you ask any questions. I nodded and waited for him I finish. "Ok. I am the leader of a gang called The Bloodbane. We are the strongest and most powerful gang in the United States at the moment. What you just saw, those men, are our toughest rivals." He then cups my face with his hands and says ever so softly, "I'm just so glad that they didn't hurt you."

I was shocked. He cared for me?! I had no idea. He was the leader of The Bloodbane! As kids and even now I had been warned to stay away from them, and now I was cared for by their leader!? I knew what this could mean and what could happen. I was scared. They wanted to get to me to get to Mason!

He saw that I realized what this meant and he quietly left the room. Only this time when the door shut I didn't hear the click of the lock.

He was trusting me, and for some reason this made me happy.
