Today, is my last day living. Tomorrow, I'm going to die. How do I know this? When we are born the Ministry (our government) gives us our expiration dates basically telling us when we are going to die.

Many people didn't like this and started to rebel against the Ministry. The Ministry had to think quick, what can they do to keep the people at bay, but still be able to control them? Oh, yes give them powers. They give you a pill on your 18th birthday each color signifying your power: Red pill - fire power, blue pill - ice power, orange pill- super speed, yellow pill- super strength, green pill- the ability to shapeshift into whoever or whatever you want, purple pill- control electricity/machinery, grey pill- future visions, gold pill which is extremely rare- is healing power, and the new pill- they recently created, but no one knows what color is or what it does.

They give you your pill by how you perform yourself in public places or even when your home. How do they do this? They monitor you which basically gives them more power over us.

Tomorrow, I am going to die, but today is sort of a big day that I won't let it go to waste. Today, is my 18th birthday. Happy birthday me my birthday gift is me dying tomorrow. Overall though I'm pretty excited I get my power today. My whole life I been trying to think what would I get? Would it be something good? Personally I don't want the yellow or orange pill they don't seem like much in my opinion. I think it would be so cool to get the new pill. Be the first person ever known to get it, but sadly you don't get to pick your power or else we'll have a bunch of this and that, little of this it would be chaotic.

Some don't make it to their 18th birthday, but dream of it their whole lives. I met really good people who died before they turned 18 and me? I was a close second on missing my opportunity which is sort of why I'm mad at the Ministry. They give us our expiration dates always making us wonder and fear when that day would come. Also they give you the power when your 18! 18! Average people live up to at least 16 all because of them. They couldn't at least change the age so more people would get it? Of course, no because that's giving the people too much power.

I often ask myself how do I even know all this stuff, but to be honest I don't really know. I read books, and magazines that tell me this stuff, but where do they get this information? One thing for sure though is that all this stuff is true.

I wake up from the bench I was sleeping on at the park. Yep, I'm homeless. My mother died giving birth to me and my dad a week after. I was force to go to this harsh, awful foster home for girls. They kicked me out when I was 16 years old and gave me only 50 dollars to keep me alive. I guess you could say I spent my money well because these 50 dollars lasted me 2 years I don't know how, but it did.

I start walking to the facility where you get your pill. I'll be getting mine in just a couple hours. I drink the last of my water bottle which lasted me two days. I had no food this pass two days just this bottled water at this point I really really hope you could receive a pill on a empty stomach.
......................................................................
I sit waiting for them to call for my turn. I look around the building I'm in. It has blood red walls with a lighter red chairs to sit on. As I sit on one of these chairs I realize the painting that are in this room.

There's one of a girl looking up at the sky in her hand a ball of fire. That must represent the red pill. I look at the rest of the paintings they all represent a power.

For the blue pill, a boy or girl I can't really tell due to where I'm sitting is standing on a field of ice.

Orange pill is a figure which I'm guessing is a human going so fast that the painting only show blurred lines signifying their speed.

The yellow pill is a man carrying a car with one hand while other people are gathering around to get a better look.

The green pill is a before and after picture. The before is this human girl in a black and white stripe dress. The after picture is the girl, but in a zebra form. Transformation is green power.

Purple pill is a boy and a girl shooting electricity out of their hands heading it toward the sky.

Grey pill is this boy who has a cloud over his head (thinking box) showing a picture of a building? Wait this is the building the one I'm sitting in. Interesting.

The gold pill is a man healing a girl who has been injured in the stomach and face. It makes me not want to look at it. Her shirt is covered with blood which by the way I'm sitting looks like she been stabbed and on top on of that scratches and bruises all over her face. Almost every inch over face is covered with scratches or bruises. Talk about surreal.

I realize they don't have a painting for the new pill making sure we don't know it. Giving the Ministry once again more power. The more we don't know the more we can't use it against them.

As I'm waiting to be called a boy who judging by how he's here today means that his birthday is today. He walks over to me and sits next to my chair. Not really wanting to talk I focus on what power I'll will get, but of course he turns toward me and says "hi, what's your name?"
