I keep running until my lungs is ready to burst. I slow down to a speed walk pace then a slower walk. I reach the park. I look around I don't see Zane which is a good sign so far. I walk to the water fountain that is always warm and gross, but I need water. Let's hope it's tap water. I drink until my stomach is about to explode and walk back to a bench across the park looking at every shadow as I do so.

I reach a bench and was about to sit in it when I see someone walk across the park. I'm frozen. Is it Zane? I can't tell, but he/she is not heading toward my way. I collapse into the bench try to catch my breath. When all of a sudden a voice pops up from behind me "stand up! Turn to face me." I do as I ask and the first thing I notice is the gun in his hand then I notice the mask covering his face. What if it's Zane? No he wouldn't need a gun.

"Empty out your pockets now!" I do as I was told really wishing I had more than the 3 dollars and coupon book in my pockets. He steps closer I step back. "If that's all you got then you're not to live another day." Uh, does he not know about expiration dates? Still the pain in the gun is probably going to be the death of me. I still got one more day. Quick use your power. I try to shoot ice out of my hands, but it won't budge. It's hopeless. How do people even master their powers. Even Zane knew how to control his powers and he hadn't even had it for three hours. Really, thinking about him now!

I snap back to reality when the man unclick his gun safety. I'm not going down without a fight. I walk up to him. He stands his ground. Before he can process what's going on I kick him in stomach, knock the gun out of his hand, then try to punch him in the face, but he caught it them grab his gun then pressed it to my face. "Not bad for a girl." Did he just go there? Yes, he did. "You have no idea who your dealing with." I tried to say that in confidence, but that's a little hard to do at this moment. He press the gun harder on my face for my response.

Just close your eyes. Is it already midnight and I didn't know it? I'm not post to due until tomorrow or today? I hear a moan and a kick. The pressure of the gun was gone and the man was gone instead I see another man that looks like a shadow due to how late it is. He looks at my arm where my mark is, but I have sleeves so he can't see it. He mumbles something and walks off. I run up to him. I can now see him as he stands in front of the park light. "Hey, thank you for helping..." He holds up his hand to stop me and says "don't say thank you I don't need your thanks. I saved your life from the looks of it you needed it. I was expecting something a little different, but it wasn't what I was hoping for so have a nice day." He waves and keep walking. Who does he think he is? What I can't thank him because he thinks he Mr. Incredible? Give him another chance. I run up to him again.

"Um, I'm much obliged to yo..." He looks at me clearly annoyed. "You saying thank you differently still you saying thank you." He walks away. "Wait what's your name?" I can't believe I just heard myself say that to this arrogant guy. He doesn't answer so asked him again, and again, and again. Why do you even want to know this guy? Let alone his name? Well, he did save my life. I asked one more time he turns to me clearly annoyed. "You know when someone doesn't want to tell you their name it means they don't want to get to know you." He storms away. I catch up. "Well I want to get to know you. So what's your name?" I kept asking. He claps his hand over his ears like a child.

Finally giving up "I'm Ethan. You are?" He said it in a very annoyed voice I'm not sure I want to tell him my name with that tone, but he has a reason to me annoyed. "Isa, nice to meet you." He mumbles under his breath "yeah, you to." Man he good at his voice being annoyed and sarcastic. "I know this is a little too forward, but I need to eat something so I was wondering if you have any money to lend me." I'm going to die tomorrow so I won't be able to pay him back, but he doesn't know that. I need to eat.

The next thing he did scared me the most at of the whole day beside Zane. His face creeped up a smile. One of those smiles that you know something up.
