ISA POINT OF VIEW
I lose most of my excitement when we were getting into the car. Why are we driving?"What you don't like to drive anymore?" Ethan asked. How did he know what I was thinking? Is he still blocked? Did I mind speak to him? Is it just that obvious?
I don't know if I do anymore once I figured out we can die in this thing. I thought it was a protection bubble! "Not anymore after the incident." Which of course was caused by me. "No worries I'll teach you and besides I'm an excellent driver" he said fully confident. Wish I can say the same, but can't.
"Where are we going?" I asked Ethan as the curiosity creeps in. "You'll just have to find out." Ugh, I hate not knowing! "How long have we been driving?" I hear Ethan laugh at my question, but all I can think about is where are we going? "Honey, we haven't even started the car." Snapped out of my trance, I notice he was right we haven't even moved!
"What are you doing? Start the car I need to know where we're going!" I feel him lean closer to me making me blush a little. "What if I don't want you to figure out?" Ha, I know he does. I can feel it. "Oh really? Then we don't need to go if you don't want me knowing of course..." I stop when I hear him laughing. "Man you're in a mood aren't you?" I stifle the laugh that's fighting to come out. "Just stating the facts. Fine, I'll calm down. I will just wait."
As we drive every 5 minutes the question that I'm holding in for so long threatens to come out: are we there yet?
"You okay? You're never this quiet," Ethan teased and I couldn't help, but roll my eyes at him. "Ha ha, very funny." "I know," he laughed, and I joined a long. I don't have much time I need to enjoy it while it lasts.
"What'd you mean 'you don't have much time?'" Ethan asked worried and I couldn't help, but shiver at thought of he's still blocked! How does he know what I was thinking?!
"Oh, you know just the fact that you're always going to be a target you don't know how much time your gonna have so mind as well enjoy it right." Please have him believe that, please have him believe that.
He takes my hand. Does this mean he believes me? Please don't have him know about the truth. "Don't worry. You and I have survived so much that I'm pretty sure the people targeting us is scared of us." I couldn't help, but smile at what he said. We have been and survived so much together already.
After a few minutes of silence Ethan stops the car at an parking lot I've never noticed before. "Okay from this point on you need to close your eyes..." I was about to interject when Ethan continued "no worries I'll guide you."
I put my hand over my eyes just to make sure I don't look and Ethan grabs my other arm and leads me somewhere I don't know. I can't see.
After walking for like at least fifteen minutes we started going down hill. We're not there yet?! "Ethan where are we? Why are we still walking?!" He laughs at my last outburst, but it's true why are we still walking? "Just hang in there. We're almost there." He pulls me closer to him. Suddenly curious as to why he would do such a thing I feel a twig get caught on my jacket. "Sorry, it gets narrower." Soon enough we are walking in a single file line branches getting caught on our arms.
Is it that worth it? "Yes, this is something you don't want to miss." How did he know I thought that when he still blocked. "Isa, even though you have been blocking me out for who knows what I can still feel what you're feeling," Ethan said sad
and slow. I didn't mean to make him sad I just can't have him know."Okay, are you ready?" Ethan asked excited. What am I expecting to find? I don't know. "Ready as I ever be." "Okay open your eyes." Ignoring the fact that I unblocked him I open my eyes mouth dropped as I stare in awe at what I'm seeing.
A water fountain that's surrounded by these white-like roses, a full moon high above the sky shining it's light on the water, and on the ground I see a blanket and a basket. Breathless at the scene in front of me I let Ethan lead me to the blanket.
"You like it?" Ethan asked hopeful. "Yes!" How did he find this place? He did all this for me? "Good, it took me a while, but I finally found this place. I was brought here with my parents when I was five, but it was too beautiful for me to ever forget the first time I saw this place." Yeah, I understand why it's gorgeous! "Okay I set up dinner which isn't much, but I bet your hungry." You know it!
There was turkey sandwiches, grapes, strawberries, chips, and carrots. This looks so amazing.
We start digging in, but I couldn't stop thinking about the scene before me as I look at the fountain. We ate in silence too focused eating, and on the scene before us.
"So what'd you think?" I turn to Ethan what do I think?! "It's amazing! I don't even know how to explain it..." I stop when I hear him start laughing. I know I sound ridiculous! "No, you sound adorable." I started to blush, but I don't even try to hide it.
Why should I?
Nevermind, hide it!
"Your so cute when you blush," Ethan whispered in my ear which makes all my hairs stand up. What do I say? "We need to hurry it's about to start!" Ethan said standing up pulling me up with him. What is about to start?
"Look at the fountain." I did so. No longer than a minute the white flowers around the fountain turned to pink, purple, blue, green, yellow, and orange! "What? How..." His hands wrap around mine. "Have you ever heard of flos recensere? They are flowers that change color in the morning from 12 a.m.-11:59a.m. these are the last of their kind. If people knew where they were they would destroy it by plucking them out, but once you pluck them out it shrivel up and dies." Wow, I'm lost for words!
"It's beautiful, I... thank you." He leans closer to me and whispers "for you anything."
