We rode down a long bumpy road. As we turned the corner I saw an big old looking house that was built sometime in the late 1600's. It had fields surrounding it and it had a large garden! It was all I imagined! I knew we were going to be happy here!

As I stepped out of the carriage I looked up at our new home. I felt tears of happiness leak from my eyes.
I hadn't been in a home of my own in nearly six years. Now I have a permanent place to live! And the best thing was that I had Ebony to share it with! I took her hand and we stepped through the front door together.

Inside was huge. It was like a mansion! Bigger than my Parents house! I couldn't help but smile with joy as I looked around. The entrance hall was big enough to fit a whole dinner table in it and the wallpaper was almost new! It was lovely and flowery and smelt amazing. Vases of flowers decorated the side tables and crystal lights hung from the ceiling. "How'd you afford this?" I whispered to Ebony. "I didn't, Evan did" Ebony smiled at me. We walked into the living room. It was huge. The whole place was fully furnished and the room had massive windows. The walls had paintings on them and they had the same flowery wallpaper as the entrance hall.

It took us most of the day to explore the whole house. It had 6 bedrooms, all of them in the finest luxury you could find. I chose one with the window facing the paddocks. So I could see the horses in the fields. Speaking of which, there were stables across from our house. They were empty though. I really hoped to have a horse some day!

Outside was a large courtyard. With a fountain in the middle. The horse stables were across from the fountain.

After I had a wash I felt lighter, all the dirt that was holding me down all those years was gone. I felt beautiful and clean and my hair was softer than ever. I had a wardrobe with heaps of beautiful dresses.

Life was perfect.

SIX MONTHS LATER

"Merry Christmas all!" Jean shouted and we all joined in the celebration. It was Christmas morning and we were here will all our new friends. I felt like someone was missing though. Evan. I hadn't seen him in six months and I didn't know if he was dead or alive.
After we celebrated and toasted to everyone in turn. We started to unwrap our presents. It was the first Christmas I had with family and friends for a very long time. "Ré, This one is for you" Ebony handed me a square box. I didn't know what to say, I hadn't received a present in years. I just smiled and carefully unwrapped it. It was a very beautiful doll. She had a lovely rose dress on and she had beautiful blonde hair. "Oh Ebony..Thank you, she's beautiful.." I whispered. "I'm so happy you like her Ré" Ebony smiled. "I will name her Amélie" I told her. "Aw thats so sweet" Ebony whispered. I picked up a smaller box. "This one is for you, my wonderful elder sister" I said. "Ré, you shouldn't have! Thank you so much" She smiled. She opened it and inside the box, was a locket just like mine. "Oh Ré, this is beautiful" She said. I opened it. Inside, was a photo of her, me, Charlié, Amélie and Evan. "We will always be a family" I told her. She cried and hugged me.

After everyone had opened their presents everyone took me outside and told me they had a surprise for me. I opened the front door and right infront of me, stood a beautiful horse. "This is from all of us" Ebony told me. I walked over to the horse and petted him. "He's beautiful, thank you so much!" I cried.

For 6 years of my life, I was afraid. I lost so many people and I didn't think I would ever be happy. Then I met Ebony and saved her life. We were together from that moment on. We had a happy life. I knew I would never have to be frightened again.
