Is this heaven?

I woke up in a large bright room. There were no windows, lights or doors. Just a window in the center. When I looked through it, I saw my friends all weeping over my body. I was free here. All the grief, guilt, fear and loneliness I had been crushed by in life was gone. But I missed my friends. They missed me.
Ebony was rocking my body and crying into my hair. Evan had his arms around her and Charlié..oh Charlié was holding my hand and crying. I had never seen him cry before. I longed to go back to them and tell them I was fine.

"Ré?" I heard a voice and turned around to see..Amélie..She looked clean and dressed in a beautiful white dress. Her hair was brushed and tied back by a beautiful white ribbon.
"Amélie?"  I whispered and walked towards her. I couldn't believe it was her! She was here with me! I ran forward and threw my arms around her. "Oh Amélie! I missed you so much!" I cried.
"I missed you too Ré!" She squealed.
I looked down at myself and realised my bloody rags were gone, replaced by a white dress like Amélie. "Are we in heaven?" I asked. "No, this is the entrance hall to heaven" She told me "I was told to come and collect you". "By who?" I asked. "By God" She replied. I thought about this.
"Oh Ré! Heaven is absolutely beautiful! You'll love it here! You'll make so many friends and there are lovely angels and they will give you what you couldn't have in life!" She said. I looked at her sadly "Like my Parents?". She looked sad for a moment too. "I saw mine but I didn't see yours, I'm sorry Ré.." She said. I nodded sadly. "I need to go back" I said after a while. "What?!" Amélie asked. "I need to go back to them! I need to find my Parents"

"Its a lot more complicated than that Ré.." Amélie explained "you have to choose to go on or stay, but don't you wanna have a good life here?".

"If I choose to go, will I be able to go back?" I asked

"I don't know, but please come with me, even if it's for a little time, you have to see this"

I nodded and she smiled and took my hand. We walked to heaven together.

"And that lady over there is my Mama" Amélie pointed at a lady with silky brown hair. Amélie had already shown me her Grandparents, Great Grandparents, cousins, Mama, Papa and all her other ancestors. I was starting to become bored. "It is lovely seeing your family, Amélie, but you told me that you'd show me to God so he could transfer me back into our world, I don't really feel at home in the netherworld" I told her. She looked offended. "This isn't the netherworld, Ré, this is heaven!" She said. "Whatever it is, I just want to go home" I said crossly. Or at least tried to sound cross, but I couldn't feel the anger in my chest. I could only feel love. "What is happening to me?" I asked. "You can't feel anything but happiness in heaven-" A sudden loud bang cut her off. I jumped and she did too. "What on earth?" She said. I shrugged.

Then I heard a familiar voice shout my name and I turned around to see Charlié racing toward me.
"CHARLIÉ!" I screamed and ran towards him. I threw myself into his arms and sobbed into his neck. "I thought you couldn't cry in heaven" Amélie said. Suddenly I came to my senses and realised. "Charlié? Why are you here? What did you do!" I demanded. "I shot myself so I could be with you" Charlié smiled. I tried my best not to smile, but there was too much happiness where the shock, sadness and horror was supposed to be. "No! Why?" I whispered. "I could bear the pain no longer, here take a look, Ebony and Evan are still fighting, they're fighting for us! All of us!" Charlié led me to a window and I looked through. Instead of fighting, Evan was placing Charlié's body next to mine and Ebony was crying. "You're not serious" I glared at Charlié "well I was going to be resurrected! And come back to you all!".

Charlié looked pitiful. "I'm sorry this had to happen, but I no longer feel any pain, just happiness! It feels amazing here! Who on earth would want to go back to that wretched place?!" He told me. "I would" I told him and suddenly he understood. "You're still looking for your Parents, aren't you Ré?"

"Yes.."
"They're not here?"
"They're not dead"
"So you reckon they'll magically turn up if you go back"
"No, But Ebony said after the war is over, we can go and live in England together, and my Parents are in England"
"But she knows for certain that you're dead now, If you were alive then maybe"
"I must go back" I said firmly.
We both stayed silent for a while. Then finally, Charlié said, "alright Ré, if you must then I support any decision you go with, and I will always watch over you". It took me a while to figure out what he said. "Wait, you're not coming with me?" I dismayed. "No, I wanna stay here Ré, this is where I belong, in heaven" He told me. "But what about our future together?" I whispered. "We can get married here" Charlié offered but I shook my head sadly. "goodbye Charlié, I promise I will never forget you" I hugged him and he hugged me back. "Take care" He whispered. "I will, bye Charlié". It felt strange not feeling pain and sadness in your heart when you were about to leave someone forever. Amélie took my hand and led me away from Charlié until he was out of sight. I turned around and saw a golden well infront of me. "Drink this water and you will be resurrected, but only after you swear to God that you wont ever try this again" Amélie told me. "Oh Amélie, you're such a sweet girl, I'm sorry you had to die so soon!" I wrapped my eyes around her. "I found my place here" she smiled and I let her go. "I wont forget you Amélie" I told her. "I won't forget you either Ré" She whispered "I hope you find your Parents".

I nodded and looked at the well. There was a silver cup on the side and a bucket attached to a golden string. It was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. I threw the bucket in and pulled it back up once it was full of water. Then I scooped the water into the cup. It sparkled. I swore to God just like Amélie said. Then finally I turned to see her for the last time, I nodded and she did too, then I closed my eyes and drank until the cup was empty.

Then everything started to spin and my vision was blurred.
