Cody's POV

I came back to the hotel with the boys two hours later, ready to take Ariana out into New York. Hopefully this could cheer her up.

"Ready to go Ari?" I asked, through her door.

"Yeah, I'll be out in a minute." She replied. I leaned up against the wall and waited for Ari to come out. The boys wanted to stay in the city, so I said we'd meet up with them later on. While we were out earlier, I kept trying to think of how to cheer her up. Everything felt uncomfortable now.

"Alright, let's go see New York!" Ari opened up her door and we headed off. She seemed normal now, which was the odd thing.

"So what should we do?" I asked her.

"Um, I'm not sure, you pick..."

"Nope, you're picking today." I told her.

"Fine, lets go get something to eat! I hear New York is famous for their pizza and cheesecake." She replied.

"I had a feeling you would say that." I chuckled.

We walked out and met up with the boys later on. Ari had talked me into getting a box of pizza and not just a slice. She said Owen would be over the too mad if we didn't get him any. He was, so good thing we got that full box.

"I could easily live here." Ariana said, admiring the sights.

"Really? I don't know about me, I think I'll stick with good old England." I replied.

"If I could live anywhere, I'd stay in England, but this would be my second choice."

We didn't talk as much as usual, and that made me uncomfortable. I really wanted to know if something was wrong. This wasn't normal. She seemed alright, but that could just be what it seems.

I heard Ari mumbling things to herself, like she was trying to reassure herself of something. Was she nervous? This is something she does when she's nervous like this.

"Something wrong?" I asked.

"No, just a smidgen tired." She answered plainly.

"Ok." I swear everyday became more and more awkward. I had to break this somehow. "You need a hat." I said randomly. She turned to me with an odd look on her face.

"A what?" She asked.

"A hat. And make that 'we'." I added.

"Ok... Care to explain why we need a hat?"

"For tour. Matching hats." I chuckled. Ariana simply complained at both my words and enthusiasm.

"You know how I hate the whole couple matching stuff. It's too cliche." Ari told me.

"All the more reason to do it! Come on!" I pulled her along as we went looking for hats.

"I don't want a hat though! It's too cliche-"

"Can we ever have a conversation about something like this without you using the word cliche?" I asked, jokingly. I was completely joking, I liked her overuse of that word and how she detested all these 'cliche' things.

Fine I'll use the words, stereotype like. It's too stereotype like." She answered.

"Did you know I was joking?"

"Yeah I just went along with it." A funny grin came over her face after Ari said this.

"I noticed."

We finally found a shop that sold hats, and I literally had to drag Ari in. She stood there, refusing to do anything, as I tried on all this different stuff. She just stood there laughing at me.

"Here we go." I pulled out a pink SnapBack for her.

"What is it with your sudden obsession with hats?" She asked.

"I don't know." I said, putting it on her.

"Ew, it's pink. No way." She complained.

"You are picky." I told her.

"Why thank you." Was her sassy reply.

About half an hour later, we found our hats, snapped a picture and put it on Twitter.

@Cody_Mason: @Ariana_ Bolton and I in our matching hats. :)

We walked out, and back to find the other three. It was darker out, and New York City looked beautiful with all the shop lights and everything!

"Can I ask you something?" I said to Ari. We stopped walking and she turned to me.

"Of course. What?" She replied.

"Is everything... you know... ok? With us?" I asked slowly.

"Yes! Of course, Cody. What makes you think that?" Ari replied. I shrugged.

"I just wanted to know if you were getting bored of me, or, yeah." I don't know what was wrong with me today.

"I don't think that's possible with you." She smiled.

This made me feel a whole lot better.

-------------------

First off, I'm terribly sorry for not updating sooner. Blame Doctor Who, ok? Yup, blame that. Or blame school, and my life in general.

Next chapter should be out very soon, cuz it's pre-written already. And since i've been awful to you all in making you wait like a month for this, I will tell you what it's about. Basically, I'm going to have Cody and Ari go back to the X-factor.

Dedicated to @SapphireBear. Thanks SapphireBear, you are like the ONLY person who comments haha :P
