It's Friday 😝! Sabrina's party is tonight at nine. Sabrina is a senior but we are actually really good friends, it's not like my relationship with Savannah, but it's something good.
This morning my parents were arguing like crazy and saying some wild thing like divorce. I hope they are not considering divorce just because of my dad losing his job. They've been married for eight years, and I would hate to see them break up.
School was normal; US history 2, English 11, pe, and a free period. We usually can go to lunch whenever we want, we can get a pass and go to the cafeteria or if you drive, you can go elsewhere, but you have to be back in thirty minutes.
After school, I stayed over Savannah's house, my parents bickering was overwhelmingly stressful. We kicked back and relaxed until seven o'clock. We wanted to get there early so we started getting ready.
" A dress or a skirt?" I asked Savannah as I went in her closet.
" A dress, should I wear flats or heels?" Savannah asked
I examined her outfit before answering." Neither, wear sneakers "
" Yeah, that'll be cute!" She ran into the closet and grabbed her pink high top shoes.
When we were ready, we walked two blocks from her house to Sabrina's house. We arrived and only ten people were there and the dj was setting up.
" Hey Vannah and Justine!" Sabrina ran up to us and hugged us both. She had on a white bandeau top with light blue acid wash jeans.
" Hey Sabrina!"
" Soo, what's been up with you?" We walked into her living room.
" Nothing much, school-" Savannah interrupted me
" And stupid Paige! I don't understand why she can't leave Justine alone" Savannah said
" We all know that Paige doesn't like competition so of course she's gonna hate you Justine, if someone is prettier than her she'll hate" Sabrina rolled her eyes
" Thinks for trying to help my self esteem but I know there is no competing with Paige, I'm ugly." I shrugged
" No you're not!" Savannah and Sabrina said at the same time.
" If you were ugly, you would be able to point out something that's wrong, like a big nose or a wierd chin" Sabrina said
" Exactly, and you have nothing that sticks out" Savannah added
" My skin is ugly, just look at it" I held out my forearm.
" I don't see anything wrong"
" I'm dark, too dark! Paige even said that I was dark. If only I was your complexion Savannah, I would be loved" I exams Savannah. Her skin was perfect, not too light but it wasn't burnt.
" Come on Justine, your skin isn't bad! You have people with skin diseases and defects out here and your complaining about your flawless skin?" Sabrina said.
" Yeah. I guess you're right" I said but I still had my opinion.
After some time passed, it was packed. I could barely move without bumping into someone. The music was blasting and the drinks were getting passed around. I don't drink and don't plan on it. I was sitting down with Sabrina and Savannah when Troy walked over.
" Hi Justine" he smiled
" Hey Troy" I returned a smile
" I seen you from over there and thought I should tell you that you look amazing tonight" immediately after he said that I began to blush
" Thank you" I said very humbly
" So I was wondering if you would like to go ou-" Paige walked into the conversation
" Hey Troy, haven't seen you since last night" she put her arm around his shoulders
" Paige, I'm kinda busy here" he looked at Paige then at me
" With Justine? You crack me up" she laughed a little. " Why would you talk to someone like that? She has nothing to offer you, but me" she kissed his neck
" You already know why my mouth can do" she smirked at him and then looked at me.
" Good luck with my sloppy seconds" she waved at me and walked away.
" I can not believe that just happened" Sabrina said
" I'm done with Paige, I'm about to-" Savannah stood up and walked in Paige direction but I stopped her
" Let it go Savannah. Violence isn't going to solve anything"
" Well, you need to stand up for yourself or imma going to interfere! No let's go, I might burn this place up because of Paige!" She stormed into the crowd and I followed her.
She walked me to my house and she didn't not say a word the whole time. When I walked in there was papers everywhere. Bills and other documents. I stepped over them and walked upstairs. I made it home before my curfew, 12.
I walked in my bathroom and took off my makeup and dress. I put on my night gown and hopped in bed. Why do I have to be ugly! If I looked like Savannah or even Sabrina I would be loved unconditionally. A tear slipped out of my eye as I lied in bed. Another night of tears.
