Chapter 19: Perfidy

3 Months Later
( September)

"You going to my party tonight?" Dontae asked me as we walked back to class from a senior motivational presentation

" It's at 9 right?" I asked for confirmation

" Yeah, you coming?" He looked over at me

" Yeah" my response made him smile

" You should come over to my house after school" We reached my classroom so we stepped to the side

" I can't, everyone was going to meet up at my house to get ready"

" Okay, I'll see you there" we stared at each other smiling.

" Bye Tae" I playfully pushed passed him and walked into my class. I sat down and begin to do my work.

This class always went by fast and I was happy it did. The last block of the day and I could feel the positive energy as I walked in the hallway. This is the first party of the school year so everyone is going to be there.

I walked to the side of the school and met up with Dame.

" Hey" I gave him a tight hug

" You coming to the movies tonight ?" He rested his heavy arm on my shoulder

" I forgot! I made plans with the girls tonight" I forgot about our date

" I hope you not going to goofy Tae's party tonight" he slid his hand off of me and became serious

I hesitated to answer because I'm not a good lier. " No, no, no, we're staying at my house" I smiled and looked up at him

" Okay, but next week we're going to see the movie that just came out" he turned and stood in front of me

" Alright, bye" I leaned in to kiss him but he stepped back

" What?" I asked searching for an emotion in his face, of course, he had a straight face

" I'll see you tomorrow " he turned around and walked to his truck.

He's been acting stranger and stranger since he talked to me about when he was younger, he even talked more about it to me afterwards so I assumed that he was getting comfortable with me, but now he does stuff like this.

I got into my car and drove off to my house. I pulled out my homework and finished majority of the work. My dad is working overtime today so he'll be home late. Six o'clock approached and I decided to get ready

I walked upstairs to my bathroom and took a shower. I massaged my new braids and tried to loosen them up. I had a slight headache from the tightness; I just got them done yesterday. I walked in my room and rub lotion on my body.

As I looked for something to wear, there was a knock at the door. I adjusted my towel and ran downstairs. I risked opening the door wearing only a towel but I knew it was Kaitlyn and Sabrina

" Hey" I greeted them then I led them to my room

" So, what are you gonna wear Jus?" Kaitlyn asked as I searched through my closet
