Chapter 12

After viciously slicing open the Caterpillar's neck, his dark blue blood dripped from my blade. The Caterpillar's limp body lay on the ground. I was in complete shock. I dropped the blade, my hands were trembling. I had killed someone. In a paroxysm of Anger, I had killed someone.

I quickly grabbed my blade and ran through the forest. I didn't care anymore. I had killed someone.

No. No. I had pushed myself into a spiraling abyss of wrong doings and depression. A fourteen year old had killed someone. Ann would be furious at me.

After running for quite sometime, I realized that my face was stained with salty tears. I was lost in the woods, yet again. I needed to find civilization. I walked through the never ending forest, the leaves cracking at every step I take.

"Brother. Look! A girl!" A voice echoed through the forest.

"Yes! She seems lost." Another voice replied.

I turned around, inspecting the noise. What I saw, appalled me. There were two tubby fellows strapped onto a tree! Their hands had been hammered onto the very tree itself! Nails was stuck through them. Their limbs were outstretched and their head was firmly tied onto the tree.

"Hello! What brings you to the Madness Mad Forest." The one on the left asked.

"I honestly don't know. Do you know where the Kingdom of Hearts is?" I asked as politely as I could, despite their grostique situation.

"OH! The kingdom of Hearts! How lovely! We travelled there before we were sentenced to eternal suffering." The right one said cheerfully.

I inspected them carefully. Their clothes were those of a merchant. Thin yet durable. They were worn out due to being hammered into a tree for a long time. Their leather shoes were slowly rotting, and the rust from the nails was firmly planted on the sole of the shoes. Their face bore lines of misery and pain, and their long, greasy hair was crawling with lice.

" I bet your wondering how we got ourselves into this quagmire?" The left one stated.

I did not want to seem as a nosey busy body, so I shook my head.

"That's completely understandable. Please hear us out tale before continuing your journey. Someone needs to know of our existence." The right one pleaded.

I hesitated for a moment before agreeing. This would help me get my mind off the... Murder I had committed.

"Alright! Here we go!" They both said in unison.

Twiddledee POV

After a hard days work, my brother and I rode our unicorns, Caspi and Rhon back to our warehouse. We had traded with many people, mostly the citizens of Queer Green City. They were the richest of them all.

"Brother, look there's a man up ahead! Shall we trade with him?" Twiddledoo asked.

Well, it wouldn't hurt to trade with another man. I gave him an approving look before riding towards the man.

He was clad in a pristine pearly white shirt and pants. His skin was bright and pale, with his shaggy golden hair hanging from his head.

"Sir, would you like to trade?" I asked in a polite manner.

He smile nicely at me and nodded his head. He requested for a tea pot. My brother took out one of our finest tea pots and showed it to him.

"Sir, this teapot is the best one we have! It has beautifully designed patterns and it is strong like an ogre!" My brother bragged.

The man listened intently, carefully scrutinizing the tea pot.

"Is it... Unbreakable?" He asked in a mocking tone.

My brother nodded his head. The man then snatched the teapot and threw it not the ground with vigor. The one beautifully designed tea pot, was reduced into a pile of useless smithereens. My mouth gaped open as I glared at the man. A smirk was tugging along his lips.

"Sir you have to pay for that." I said sternly.

"YOU CAN'T JUST BREAK PEOPLE'S ITEMS!" My brother spat.

The man laughed heartily and pointed at the trees.

"These trees make tea! But they need lots of blood to do so. I don't know why but they need blood to produce my quality tea."

"I don't care!" My brother yelled.

He lashed out at the man, knocking over the tea cup he was fiddling with. The man looked up, glaring at my brother the curled up his knuckles. Out of the blue, my brother was suddenly flung into the air by a sudden force. His limbs were outstretched and his small bobble head was pulled backwards.

I tried to reach out for him but my body was doing the same thing. We were then pulled against two trees, each facing a different direction. As I thought my misery had ended, sharp nails grew through the bark of the tree and went thorough my hands and legs. I grimaced in agony as a jolting pain shot up my body. I tried to maintain my composure, but my brother, however, was screaming and shouting.

The sadistic man let out a loud guffaw. The trees tied a firm branch around our necks. I did not understand the process until the thorns from the branch was pressed onto my skin. Red drops of blood, came falling down. The tree acted quickly, it lowered its leaves to catch the falling drops of blood. So now, I had become a feeding toy for these man-eating trees.

"Have fun. Remember, I will come back once a week to collect my tea. Good Bye." The Man said mockingly.

We watched as the silhouette of the man disappeared into the distant horizon.

Also, with every time the tree takes our blood, the branch tightens our neck. It will not be long before it completely chokes us. Our fate is forever settled.
