LOGAN'S P.O.V.
**
"I CAN'T BELIEVE WE actually got into a bar fight." I turned to look over at Rory, who was in the bed next to me.
I winced in pain, as it was extremely difficult and very very painful to move my neck. "Will you shut up? You're the reason we're in this whole mess anyways. You just had to go insulting people."
"Me? You're the one that insulted that one guy."
"It wasn't an insult."
"You basically called him ugly. This whole thing is your fault."
"Oh come on, I mean how was I supposed to know that the guy was gonna be trouble?"
"He was wearing an eyepatch!"
"You know what, Rory? The second they release us, you're gonna find my foot and half a Ho-Ho up your ass. Rory stopped mid-chew and put down the remainder of the Hostess snack he had been enjoying.
"Whoa. Violent much?" In walked Alex at that moment. "Did I catch you two love birds at the wrong time?"
"Hey Alex. What brings you around?"
He took a seat. "I just came to check on you guys. I mean by the time I was finally able to call police, you had lost consciousness and Rory was spitting up blood."
"Wait," Rory said, "You called the police?"
Alex shrugged. "Yeah...I mean I couldn't just sit there and let them kill you...at least not on my property....I don't need that liability on my hands."
I let out a breath and turned to stare at the ceiling. "Thanks man, nice to know that you care."
Minutes later, a nurse walked in with her clipboard in hand. "Okay...Logan? Your X-rays came back and you have a minor concussion but other than that you're good to go."
"Um, what about me?" The nurse turned to Rory then stared intently down at her clipboard as she flipped the page. "Hmm, Crest...let's see... Oh, a few bruised ribs and a minor concussion. From the looks of thing you guys are free to go." She flashed us a smile and turned to leave the room.
I gingerly sat up and swung my legs over the edge of the bed. "Hey, Alex?" I stepped down and grabbed the bag the nurse had put my clothes in. "What happened to the guys that did this to us?"
"Oh, they were all arrested."
"Good." Rory stood up as well, rubbing the back of his head.
Alex laughed, pulling his car keys from his his pocket. "Hey, I figured you guys must need a ride home then, right?"
I paused in my tracks. It hadn't crossed my mind until that moment that we had arrived in an ambulance and didn't have means of transportation for getting back home.
"Well, um, if it isn't too much trouble..."
Alex tossed his keys high up in the air, and easily caught them again without so much as moving his wrist. "Then lets roll."
**
"Ah, smell that fresh air!" Rory stood on the sidewalk in a Superman pose with his eyes shut. He opened them and then looked at me. He said, "You know, I honestly didn't think I was ever gonna see the light of day again."
I rolled my eyes. "Whatever. Would you just please come on?"
He caught up with me and we began following closely behind Alex.
