Chapter: 3

Chase's POV

At that moment, I was very aware of my body. I could feel every part of myself, like I didn't belong in my own skin. Kody's eyes brushed over mine and mine brushed over her's. She was wearing jeans that made her legs seem beautiful and runner material. I mentally kicked myself when I realized that I was checking her out. Keep it together Chase! You cannot let a girl know that you're affected by her. Her eyes were on me for less than a second like I was just air and nothing important to look at. I felt somewhat disappointed. Girls usually give me a second glance.

She didn't even seem surprised that I was Chase, the leader of the Night Whips. I mentally scoffed.

Just like I predicted, her eyes flew back to me for a second glance but this time on my body. Her eyes went slowly up until they reached my eyes. Then she realized that I was still staring at her and her cheeks tinted red of embarrassment. Hell yeah. I smirked at her, pleased with her reaction. In less than a second, the red faded and her eyes strayed.

They went right to Trey. My hands twitched to do something to gain her attention, anything. I held the desk tight so I don't seem desperate.

I kept looking between them. Both of them were expressionless. Kody walked like that all the way to the nearest desk while still holding Trey with her eyes. The nearest desk was right in front of my desk. I don't think she realized where she sat down though. A part of me was disappointed that she didn't sit in the front seat because of me, but because it was an accident.

As soon as she sat down, she looked away like nothing happened. I was confused as hell. I really needed to talk to Trey. Every time he looked at her, I could tell that he recognized her. Jason, on the other hand, had his eyes wide and shining as if he were a little kid on a sugar rush. I rolled my eyes.

The silence stretched on and Kody kept looking more and more uncomfortable yet at the same time she looked like she wanted to laugh at the awkwardness. Her eyes were trained on the class walls. All three of us were staring at her.

I smiled and cleared my throat deciding to get rid of the silence. Before I got the chance to speak though, a boy busted through the door. I recognized him almost immediately. It was Jeremy, also known as Jem. He was part of my gang. The bandanna on his jeans told it all. He smiled and nodded his head at us. Then he turned and spotted Kody. His smile automatically turned into a frown. He went to the seat next to her and sat down and then proceeded to inch his desk slowly away from her's. I wonder what happened between them. And why didn't he just sit in a different seat if he wanted to be away from her?

Kody didn't look annoyed at all. She inched her desk away from him too. It was pretty early in the passing period for kids to come in. I'm surprised any kids came in at all. Most would be out in the hall talking until ten seconds till the bell.

Just then, a girl came rushing in. She caught my eye. She was sharp-looking just like Kody. Every feature of her's stood out; sharp eyes, sharp nose, dark hair, and pale skin. Her nose was a bit rounded and soft which made it look even cuter. On the other hand, Kody's nose was crooked like it had been broken many times before. And just like Kody, she was beautiful. Except her nose and eyes looked red like she spent hours crying. And her sweater looked two times too big for her size.

"Kody, Principle Jackson. Looking. For you." She cried out, breathing heavy.

Kody looked intrigued. "Really?" Her melodious voice rang out, filling the whole room. Her head was held up high as if daring people to look away from her beauty.

"Yeah," Before the girl even said the word, Jackson was already in the room. His expression had a hard look about it.

"Kody, I got a call from your homeroom teacher saying you weren't in class." I wonder why he even came in here for that. How did he know she was here today?
